Sen. Chuck Schumer, there’s this thing now called video that makes it A LOT harder for you to get away with your politically-motivated lies.
Watch Sen. Chuck Schumer back in 2007, that would be the year BEFORE the next presidential election, vowing to obstruct Pres. Bush ability to appoint any justices to the Supreme Court
On yesterday’s edition we detailed the democrats’ STUNNING hypocrisy on the question of nominations to the Supreme Court. In the wake of Justice Antonin Scalia’s sudden and tragic death over the weekend, they are in full cry, reverently and solemnly babbling about “Constitutional responsibilities.” Even Jackass Obama, who has spend decades demonstrating his contempt for our founding document took a break from the golf course to step up to a podium and lecture us. Are you kidding me?
One of the biggest phonies of all is Sen. Chuck “I Don’t Know Any Real Americans So I Had to Invent Some Imaginary Friends for My Book” Schumer, who appeared yesterday on ABC’s This Week to discuss filling the vacancy on the Court.
From The Daily Caller:
“You know, the kind of obstructionism that [Senate Majority Leader] Mitch McConnell‘s talking about, he’s hearkening back to his old days,” Schumer said, according to The Hill. “In 2010, right after the election or right during the election, he said, ‘My number-one job is to defeat Barack Obama,’ without even knowing what Barack Obama was going to propose. Here, he doesn’t even know who the president’s going to propose and he said, ‘No, we’re not having hearings; we’re not going to go forward to leave the Supreme Court vacant at 300 days in a divided time.’”
“When you go right off the bat and say, ‘I don’t care who he nominates, I am going to oppose him,’ that’s not going to fly,” Schumer added.
Right because that would be wrong. Unless, of course, we’re talking about a Republican president filling a vacancy. Few people remember that while George W. Bush was president. Schumer actually proposed doing away with the president’s Article II power to appoint Justices, and substituting some wacky commission idea! That’s how much the Democrats hate the Constitution that they now so reverently cite.
AND it is really ridiculous and laughable for Schumer and his fellow leftists to cite the example of Anthony Kennedy being confirmed in 1988 when Ronald Reagan tried to fill that vacancy with an appointment made July 1, 1987! Why was the vacancy not filled until the following year? You guessed it. Democrat obstructionism, of course. Do you remember Robert Bork? If not, or even if you do, you need to read the piece from the Liberal Death Star aka The New York Times that we discussed on yesterday’s show, The Ugliness Started With Bork.
