Pravda Has Spoken: ATF Never Allowed Gunwalking

Yesterday, Chris “Thrill Up My Leg” Matthews opened his unintentionally hilarious daily Obama slobberfest by touting this piece, entitled “The truth about the Fast and Furious scandal” which he pointedly noted, was written by someone from Fortune magazine “not The Nation.” Call me a cynic, but knowing that MS-NBC is the equivalent of Korean Central Television, I decided to look into the background of the writer, one Katherine Eban. Imagine my shock when I discovered that she does in fact write for the Nation, as well as the Daily Kos, and that her previous claim to fame was writing in 2007 about “the C.I.A.’s torture techniques.” She appeared on sad sack leftist Amy Goodman’s “Democracy Now!” show to bleat about that. She may or may not be the same person as Katherine Eban Finkelstein.  Who knows? Who cares? Liberals often like to hide behind other identities. She also appeared yesterday as a guest on Rev. Al Sharpton’s silly waste of air time.

Then I read the piece, and as I expected, it was full of distortions and inaccuracies. Last Sunday, one of our special guests was Katie Pavlich, author of Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal and the Shameless Cover-Up, and if you want the full story, read her book. In the meantime, please check out this piece she posted this morning debunking some of the most serious inaccuracies in Ms. Eban’s (Finkelstein’s?) piece.

The question I have is who in the Obama administration assigned Ms. Eban (Finkelstein?) to create this propaganda. Would any of you care to speculate? Please post your ideas here.

What Will the Court Do with Obamacare?

We’ll know in about 3 hours. What would you to see them do? It’s no secret that I want this hideous scheme thrown out, lock, stock and barrel. I have a hard time seeing how they keep this thing in place when it has no severability clause, but as we have seen many times, the Supremes can do whatever they want.

Despite the fact that, as one of last Sunday’s excellent A-List guests, Katie Pavlich has meticulously detailed in her terrific book, Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal and Its Shameless Cover-up, internal DOJ emails have confirmed what those familiar with Eric Holder and Barack Obama long ago realized; that is, that  Operation Fast and Furious had a hidden agenda, which was to impose more gun control on Americans. The hostility that the Left has toward the Second Amendment isn’t exactly a revelation, unless you happen to lack the sense that God gave geese. Case in point: frequent MS-NBC babbler, salon.com’s Joan Walsh. She appeared with Chris Matthews on his “Hardball” show on Tuesday 6/26/12, and expressed disgust that Rep. Darryl Issa and millions of other sentient Americans believe that strident ideologues like this bunch would actually send serious firepower to Mexican drug cartels if that would help them strip Americans of their civil liberties.

I love the way doltish Rep. Carolyn Maloney chimes in at the end, echoing Ms. Walsh, and sounding like a demented parrot.

Elizabeth Warren Explains Corporate Law: Corporations Don’t Dance

Dumbass would-be Cherokee/screeching harpy Elizabeth Warren demonstrates her utter cluelessness about the basic corporate law any second-year law student would be expected to understand.

It turns out that she’s as knowledgeable about corporate law as she is about genealogy. As  UCLA Law Professor Stephen Bainbridge points out in a post entitled “The Corporation is a Legal Person Get Over It,”

the proposition that the corporation is a legal person with (most of) the same rights as natural persons has been settled as a matter of constitutional law since at least 1885 and, as a matter of common law, for centuries before that.

Either Ms. Warren doesn’t understand basic corporate law, or–I know that what I’m about to say might be hard to believe of a liberal, but bear with me, please–she’s engaging in demagoguery designed to appeal to low-information, emotionally-driven, slogan-repeating fools. Clearly from Barack Obama down, all liberal democrats have concluded that the Left’s 50-year long effort here in the U.S. to dumb down the population and render them virtually unacquainted with our founding documents has succeeded so well that they can blatantly misrepresent our laws and traditions to their moronic voters.

All Postal Workers Should Go on Strike Forever

From the Washington Post:

A small group of postal workers and supporters began a four-day hunger strike Monday to protest the U.S. Postal Service’s deteriorating finances and service and Congress’s failure to address the situation.

The 10 strikers will make their stand days before the postal service makes changes that will end overnight delivery of up to 20 percent of first-class mail, as mail-sorting hubs are shuttered.

What is this “mail” they speak of in this article? All that drech that constantly piles up on my kitchen table until I muster the energy to get rid of it? I’ve killed three shredders so far. Will it never end?

Seriously will anyone miss this dead tree clutter? Maybe this guy, who definitely will not be joining any hunger strike.

The Lawless Obama Administration

The following comes from CNN’s website on April 16 2009: “Reviving a ban on assault weapons and more strictly enforcing existing gun laws could help tamp down drug violence that has run rampant on the US-Mexican border, President Obama said Thursday. Speaking alongside Mexican President Felipe Calderon, Obama said he has ‘not backed off at all’ on a campaign pledge to try to restore the ban. It was instituted under President Clinton and allowed to lapse by President George W. Bush.
‘

From the moment the prohibition on the sale of assault weapons was lifted a few years ago, we have seen an increase in the power of organized crime in Mexico,’ Calderon said. He said that more than 16,000 assault weapons have been seized in the crackdown on drug traffickers, with almost 9 in 10 coming from the United States.”
Fox News exposed the lie in that easily shown to be false prevarication, and so the Obama Administration set out to make it the lie a reality. Hence the genesis of “Fast and Furious.”

Which forces us to address the lawless Obama administration

A lawless administration is a depressing institution because it is an institution completely without respect for the purpose of law in a constitutional republic. Even as we are SATURATED with ordinances, commands compulsions and regulations, the administration conducts itself in a matter that reeks of contempt for the meaning of law. .
Law exists apart from what a group of people at any given time want you to do. That is why the aged nature of the United States Constitution is a strength. The farther away we travel from 1789, the less that the foibles and frailties of the Framers affect us. The transitory human things fall away leaving only the essence of law.
If our Bill of Rights were drafted today it would look very different than it did back then. Not only would there be no Second Amendment, but most of the others would read dramatically different. There would be few severe restrictions on government power. Nor would there be unlimited Freedom of Speech. The entire thing would run a few thousand pages and would be filled with all sorts of lawerly escape clauses, which when added together would render the whole thing meaningless.

This administration personifies the essence of lawlessness, which is to say that there is a whole buncha statutes they invoke, but all that is merely mechanics for those in power to enforce their will on others. If you want to force people to do something, all you need to do is lay out your reasoning create a spurious justification and voila, you can impose your will on the nation and extort unconstitutional gun legislation from the cowed and intimidated capons in Congress.

It’s law in the same sense that a mugger putting a gun to your head is law. He has a gun and he makes the laws. The laws don’t apply to him. They don’t apply in any larger universal fashion. The mugger can choose to suspend any laws at his whim, because he has a gun.

The United States has drifted into lawlessness, into laws that are the guns of government. Want to force everyone to buy health insurance? Pass a law. Ignore any questions of constitutionality because legality doesn’t matter. If people come out to protest, send out your SEIU thugs to beat them. If you lose your Senate majority, use Reconciliation to pass it. If the Supreme Court threatens to investigate the constitutionality of the law, threaten the Court.

The only thing separating tactics like these from the mugger on the corner is public interest. Which is to say that the government is playing Robin Hood. It isn’t mugging you because it likes the smell of money, but because it wants to help those less fortunate. Robin Hood was rebelling against the illegal authority of the Sheriff of Nottingham. And our government is rebelling against the legitimate authority of .the written Constitution..
The government becomes the outlaw, doing what it likes because it must resist all the “powerful special interests”, in this case the pro gun lobby like the NRA.. The Revolution becomes permanent, with the Reds in power constantly rebelling against the bitter clingers desperately clutching their guns and Bibles to their panic stricken bigoted heaving breasts.

This farce can take place under the guise of law, but it represents the whims of a lawless administration. The constitution was created to establish and enumerate the limits of the police power, i.e. “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”. It limits the power of individuals, institutions and governments. But for a lawless administration no limitation on power applies if the power is being applied for the sake of the higher ideals which the administration is claiming to represent. If those higher ideals involve helping the poor, so has to protect them from “assault weapons” while refusing to acknowledge the general communal breakdown that resulted from liberal welfare state policies that contributed to the rise of the criminal gangs that employ the “assault weapons”, then every institution can act like Robin Hood.

In a lawless administration, law is a function of the emotions they can generate, or the mob they can demagogue. The one who screams the loudest gets his way if he can influence enough people to believe that he has a case. Laws get made from a sense of “rightness” that is entirely a function of emotion

Rights become entirely positive and empathy based. Negative rights become associated with selfishness. Everyone has the right to a thousand benefits, but no one has the right to opt out. Everyone is free to speak their mind, so long as it is an expression of need, rather than a demand to be left alone.

Empathy makes for very bad law, because it isn’t law at all. It’s a subjective response to the suffering of others. And often those who excel at marketing their suffering aren’t suffering at all, while those who are genuinely suffering remain silent. Empathy-based law commodifies pain, but it’s empty of justice.

A lawless administration is one where those who manipulate empathy gain power. Where temporary outrage substitutes for policy. The Obama administration was trying to gin up outrage against lawful gun sales that originated from legal gun dealers.. There is no real respect for law and so Fast and Furious is political, because law is made on an ad hoc basis. Just project enough grief and victimization and there ya go.Obama the actor is every bit as ersatz as his Styrofoam Greek columns. Every press conference is a performance as he oh so sincerely tells you why he must violate the constitution.
The idea that there should be one law for all, rather than one law for the sufferers and another for those who aren’t suffering, is alien to a society where empathy trumps law. Rather than doing the right thing, Obama does the Robin Hood thing, leaping from the tree, looting the society, and writing songs about his own dashing kill Bin Laden valor.
The government-media complex acts out the empathy narrative. Its reporting has nothing to do with the facts, but everything to do with emotion. A law is bad when it protects the privilege of the opposition, but good when it protects their privilege. The powers of the Senate, the Executive and the Supreme Court are good when they serve their ends, but bad when they serve the ends of their enemy. The blame always goes to the side blocking their agenda.

For a lawless administration, laws and the constitution only matter so long as it serves the purpose of those in power. When it doesn’t, then it’s ignored or tossed aside.

Last week we witnessed Obama playing Robin Hood by casting aside immigration law and transparency to the huzzahs of the media, whose fondest wish is for politicians to play Robin Hood, cut all the Gordian Knots and just carry out their agenda without regard for the law, even the law that Obama cited as previously restraining him. That is what they wanted, that is what they got. But a lawless administration cuts both ways and takes the system out of the protection of the law.

Law should be impartial. It states absolute principles that apply regardless of faction and position. But for a lawless administration, there is no law, only power. The cultural Marxist left exemplified by the Obamunists has ushered in a lawless administration even as they inundate us with statute..

Differences between Bush’s “Wide Receiver” and Obama’s “Fast & Furious” explained for cognitively dissonant liberals and Obamunists:

Wide Receiver – The number of guns used in the operation from the beginning until the end of the operation was 300
Fast & Furious – The number of guns used in the operation from the beginning until the end of the operation was 2,000

Wide Receiver – Guns were traced with miniature tracking devices and constant surveillance from ground and air.
Fast & Furious – No tracking devices were used, no surveillance was made whatsoever.

Wide Receiver – ATF agents were ordered to follow the gun smugglers every step of their trip from the gun store to the US/Mexico border.
Fast & Furious – ATF agents were ordered to stand down and not follow the gun smugglers after they left the gun store. The only surveillance was made through the gun store own video cameras; after gun smugglers left the store, the ATF agents were expressly ordered not to pursue.

Wide Receiver – Mexican army and police was in the loop about Wide Receiver. They took over the surveillance of the gun smugglers after they crossed with the guns in Mexico.
Fast & Furious – Mexican authorities were kept in the dark by the ATF and the US DOJ. They had no idea about Fast & Furious and the fact that guns provided to gun smugglers by the American authorities were “walked” in Mexico into the hands of drug cartel murderers.

Wide Receiver – When a small number of guns (30-40) were lost due to malfunctioning tracking devices and / or because the gun smugglers discovered the surveillance and learned how to evade it, the operation Wide Receiver was immediately aborted and cancelled.
Fast and Furious – Operation continued even after ATF and DOJ lost track of all 2,000 guns sold to Mexican drug cartels

Wide Receiver – 1,400 arrests were made in joint operations by the Mexican authorities and DEA and ATF agents. No lost Wide Receiver guns were recovered at crime scenes in Mexico or the US.
Fast & Furious – The operation was planned to let the guns go without any surveillance. Guns were SUPPOSED to be recovered at the murder scenes. One of the 150+ murder scenes where Fast & Furious guns were recovered was that of US border patrol agent Brian Terry; another one was the murder scene of ICE agent Jaime Zapata. The DOJ and ATF didn’t muster any explanation about how they planned to make arrests of the drug cartel murderers BEFORE THEY KILLED PEOPLE with the Fast & Furious guns, and how they were supposed to make arrests in Mexico without the fore knowledge and cooperation of the Mexican authorities.

Deaths as a Result of Wide Reciever: 0 as of this date

Fast & Furious results: 300+Mexican citizens murdered; 2 US Federal agents murdered.
As I have said REPEATEDLY next time lets try hiring a natural born citizen as POTUS.

In conclusion let me just say, Barack Hussein Obama Umm Ummmm Ummmmmm.

Our Jackass President Has Increased Welfare Spending 41%; Number of Poor Unchanged

No surprise here, but worth noting. All the money that Barack Obama and his Marxist friends have thrown down the social welfare rathole hasn’t reduced poverty. From CNS News:

“[S]ince President Obama took office, federal welfare spending has increased by 41 percent, more than $193 billion per year.” the study says.

Federal welfare spending this year now totals $668 billion, spread out over 126 programs, while the poverty rate that remains stubbornly high at nearly 15 percent – roughly where it was in 1965, when President Johnson declared a federal War on Poverty.

Here’s a suggestion for Barry and his socialist friends. Declare victory and leave the field; that is, unless this is another case in which the Obama administration has a hidden agenda. Could it be?

While the study concedes that some of the increased spending under Obama is a result of the recession and the counter-cyclical nature of anti-poverty programs, it also finds that some of the increase is deliberate, with the government having expanded eligibility for welfare programs.

“But the dramat­ically larger increase also suggests that part of the program’s growth is due to conscious policy choices by this administration to ease eligibility rules and expand caseloads,” the Cato report says. “For example, income limits for eligibility have risen twice as fast as inflation since 2007 and are now roughly 10 percent higher than they were when Obama took office.”

…

“The vast majority of current programs are focused on making poverty more comfortable – giv­ing poor people more food, better shelter, health care, and so forth – rather than giving people the tools that will help them escape poverty.”

Meanwhile, across the pond, Prime Minister David Cameron announced that he wants to take the U.K. the opposite direction. From the BBC:

In his speech in Kent Mr Cameron defended benefits for the elderly and disabled but said the system of working-age benefits had gone “truly awry” and created a “welfare gap between those living long-term in the welfare system and those outside it”.

David Cameron is not just calling for a minor tweak to the welfare state – he is opening the door to a re-casting of the entire welfare system and who it is meant to serve.

“The time has come to go back to first principles,” he says.

If the welfare state is meant to be a safety net, he argues, then a lot of people are receiving benefits who are not in need, and therefore should not be receiving them.

Hence he raises the prospect of limits to the amount of support claimants should expect for larger families; curbs to the rights of young people to get help with their rent; and tougher requirements on those seeking work.

It is a bold statement of intent that will reassure and please an unsettled Tory party, both inside and outside Parliament.

But it carries with it a huge political danger? It risks undermining what was Mr Cameron core pitch to the electorate, namely that he was a different sort of Tory leader.

His critics will seize on this – together with the apparent playing down of the green agenda and wobbles over gay marriage – as further evidence that Mr Cameron is turning his back on Compassionate Conservatism and returning to a much more traditional Tory agenda.

“Those within it grow up with a series of expectations: you can have a home of your own, the state will support you whatever decisions you make, you will always be able to take out no matter what you put in.

“This has sent out some incredibly damaging signals. That it pays not to work. That you are owed something for nothing. It gave us millions of working-age people sitting at home on benefits even before the recession hit. It created a culture of entitlement.

“And it has led to huge resentment amongst those who pay into the system, because they feel that what they’re having to work hard for, others are getting without having to put in the effort,” he said.

I don’t have to remind you, but I shall anyway. In less than five months we will decide whether we give Barack Obama complete free rein to “remake” our country into something barely recognizable as the country we grew up in, a one-party socialist state run by a jug-eared dictator.

While faux network “news” reports waste the 22 or so minutes they have between commercials for incontinence products and prescription meds for ailments that afflict those old enough to remember the first Carter administration on foolishness like abusive brats berating a monitor on a school bus, Jerry Sandusky, battling bears, and the world’s ugliest dog, there is actual news out there. Try as the Lame Stream Media might to avoid reporting it, it’s still happening. The Obama administration is engaging in a coverup that would make Nixon’s crowd blush, complete with a a last-minute assertion of executive privilege. Watergate was about political power, and destroying Richard Nixon, who would never be forgiven by the Left for outing Alger Hiss. It caused a lot of turmoil and media hysteria, but no one actually died. Fast and Furious was about undermining our constitutional rights, and two American agents, as well as several hundred Mexicans, have been murdered as a result of this boneheaded Obama administration operation. Katie Pavlich has written the definitive book on this unraveling scandal, Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal and Its Shameless Coverup. She’ll join us today to tell us the story behind the story. Why do Eric Holder’s apologists continue to insist that Fast and Furious began during the Bush administration, when that is provably false? Why Barack Obama Doesn’t Throw Holder Under the Bus

On Wednesday, when Obama asserted executive privilege to protect Eric Holder from having to answer questions about a dead Border agent’s blood on his hands as a result of a program that he said didn’t exist until he said it was something started by that evil George W. Bush, some people were scratching their heads asking why Barack Obama, who isn’t exactly setting records in the approval department, would insinuate himself into this mess. After all, until he took this action, his Lame Stream Media buds were able to pretend that Fast and Furious was just a “political witch hunt,” a baseless smear, and a trumped up political distraction. Then they grudgingly had to cover it, by which I mean mention it for ten seconds. Why not just throw Ferret Face under the bus? I’m sure there’s still a little room under there. There are several reasons the One has decided to stand behind his man. I present them in descending order of plausibility.

(1) Look at me! I’m not Jimmy Carter. I’m Harry Truman!

Since I watch so you don’t have to, I am the canary in the coal mine when it comes to detecting the latest leftist memes, and the mantras that they will soon be endlessly reciting in front of every available microphone. (You don’t expect these zombies to actually think, do you?) You might think the Obama administration’s decision to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Watergate break-in by stonewalling and trying to cover up wrongdoing with phony assertions of executive privilege might be considered a bad thing less than five months before a presidential election. Not so fast, my bitter-clinging friend! It’s actually a brilliant political move. That’s what I learned the last few days from watching on MS-NBC, where the consensus is that our Dear Reader, crafty genius that he is, wanted to pick a fight with Congress because they are so unpopular. He can hang them around Mitt Romney’s filthy rich, out of touch neck, and, presto, second term! Can you say “whistling in the graveyard?”

(2) Blood, I’ve Got Your Back

OK, so Theory 1 isn’t too convincing. What do you expect from something promulgated on a televised insane asylum? I’m not buying that reason. Here’s something that I think makes more sense. The first “African-American” president isn’t going to fire the first African-American Attorney General, particular one that shares his racialist point of view. There’s no doubt that Eric Holder would have been just as comfortable listening to Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s racist screeching as Michelle and Barack Obama were. (3) The Real Reason. Think New Black Panther Party

Despite what you hear from Jurassic media shills, Barry’s re-election prospects are dim. I think he’s going to be beaten like a drum in November. Even if the boys at re-elect in Chicago don’t agree, they know that November’s election will be the second time in his political career that Barack Obama will actually face any opposition. They know what happened the first time. He lost to this guy.

This is the only real opposition Obama has ever had, and he beat him.

Eric Holder is the guy in charge of obstructing the efforts by states, especially so-called “swing” states, to purge their voter rolls of dead people, illegals, and dogs (and even dead dogs). On that afore-mentioned nuthouse, they endlessly state that vote fraud doesn’t exist. That would come as a surprise to Lee County (Florida) Supervisor of Elections Sharon Harrington, who has found 96 illegal voters on her county’s roles so far.

Curiously, half of the non-citizens illegally registered to vote in Florida come from a single county, and it’s not the one containing Miami.  It’s Lee County, which is on the opposite coast.  This isn’t necessarily because a disproportionately large population of illegal voters lives in the county; it’s because Lee County has been particularly diligent at rooting them out.  The task of cleaning up voter registrations was farmed out to each individual Florida county, which proceeds as it sees fit.

Lee County Supervisor of Elections Sharon Harrington has been particularly effective at spotting illegal voters, and it seems she did not entirely rely upon the state’s list of questionable names – prepared without access to the most up-to-date data from the Department of Homeland Security, which withheld its database from Florida, in violation of clear federal law.

According to the Naples Daily News, Harrington took the initiative and compared a list of the people who asked to be excused from jury duty, because they were not U.S. citizens, with the county voter rolls.  She found that “nearly half of those potential jurors who said they weren’t citizens were listed in her files as being eligible to vote.”  She has actually discovered some ineligible voters beyond the list of 2600 names prepared by the Florida Department of State.

Let me restate that, for the benefit of the anti-patriotic charlatans and political hacks who keep trying to protect the voter fraud racket in America, or lie through their teeth by portraying it as some kind of racist assault on minority voters.  This county supervisor merely took a list of dismissed jurors, who openly stated they were not citizens, in writing, under oath, and discovered half of them were also illegally registered to vote.

 

That’s exactly the sort of thing that Eric Holder is assigned to prevent, and that’s why Obama wants to keep him right where he is.

(4) Eric Holder Aside, He’s Hiding Something

I’m not buying that he’s using executive privilege to stall answering questions until after the election. What are they hiding? As I noted here, when we see how the liberals operate behind closed doors, the difference between their carefully-crafted, touchy-feely, smily faced images and the hideous, racist, vindictive, vicious, power-obsessed reality is stunning. Recall the memos uncovered about they planned to filibuster Pres. George W. Bush’s judicial nominees.

Now that B. Hussein has taken ownership of Fast and Furious, he probably couldn’t fire Holder even if wanted to. He doesn’t want to.
