62 Years Ago Today: Sir Edmund Hillary and Tensing Norgay Conquered Mount Everest (5.5 Years AFTER Hillary Rodham Clinton Was Born)

From The Quint:

Exactly 62 years ago, at 11:30 a.m. on May 29, 1953, Edmund Hillary of New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay of Nepal, become the first mountaineers to scale the Mount Everest, which at 8,848 metres above sea level is the highest point on earth.

A young Hillary Rodham must have been fascinated by these two men shattering the ultimate “glass ceiling.”
