Your Money Funded Anti-Netanyahu Group through the U.S. State Department
One last Sunday’s edition of The Teri O’Brien Show, I told you that a a former Obama operative was assisting a pro-Palestinian “non-profit” called One Voice, using your money from the State Department to target Bibi Netanyahu in today’s Israeli election.
From the Illinois Review, reporting on a demand from 20 members of Congress for an explanation:
“As Members of Congress, we are greatly concerned to hear allegations of our own State Department spending American tax dollars that were then used to influence foreign elections. Israeli elections should be left to the citizens of Israel and not the influence of U.S. taxpayer-funded grants which may be considered illegal,” the U.S. House members said in a statement.
The group they’re questioning – OneVoice Movement – is a U.S. non-profit, tax-exempt organization with a subsidiary in Israel that is reported now to be working with former Obama political operatives in V15 in Israel. OneVoice has allegedly used $350,000 in State Department grants to actively support campaign efforts against Prime Minister Netanyahu, in violation of U.S. law. In light of these allegations, the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations has launched a bipartisan investigation into the political activities of the organization.
Ruh-roh. Paging Lois Lerner: by engaging in this partisan activity, this bunch may also have violated its tax-exempt status. What’s a “non-profit” to do? It’s simple, or it would be if these sleazy operatives had a time machine. From The Washington Free Beacon:
A U.S. non-profit that has received State Department funding scrambled last month to create a new legal entity in the aftermath of a congressional letter suggesting its efforts to unseat Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may violate tax law, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.
The PeaceWorks Network Foundation—a nonprofit linked to Obama campaign figures and also known as OneVoice—was identified in a January letter authored by U.S. lawmakers as having funneled money to campaign-related activities in the upcoming election despite being incorporated as a 501(c)(3) organization. Such organizations are forbidden from engaging in foreign or domestic political campaign activities.
PeaceWorks moved to create a new organization that could engage in such electoral activities after the letter was issued, new documents obtained by the Free Beacon show. The new organization, named PeaceWorks Action Inc., was incorporated in Delaware in February 2015.
However, multiple sources familiar with the controversy said the establishment of that new organization would not shield the earlier activities of the original 501(c)(3) organization from U.S. law.
“This isn’t difficult. If you do something illegal, like [OneVoice’s Israel-based campaign] V15 did, you can’t erase that illegality by suddenly deciding to comply with the law,” said one D.C. based source familiar with a congressional inquiry into OneVoice’s activities, which was first reported by Fox News late last week.
Good luck with that space-time continuum thing, my slimy friends.
As I have been telling your for years, the Left are like cockroaches, doing their dirty business in the dark, only to scurry when the lights go on.
What do you think? What are your favorite examples of the Left scheming behind closed doors?
