Remember this tweet from last Thursday about the Deep State conspiracy against the president?
Now we learn that this man’s wife worked for–wait for it–Fusion GPS, the firm hired to create the discredited “dossier” (PULEEZE!) about President Trump’s alleged connections to Russia.
A senior Department of Justice official demoted earlier in December for not disclosing meetings with Fusion GPS representatives is also married to a former employee of the firm behind the infamous Trump-Russia dossier, according to a report.
Nellie H. Ohr, wife of demoted DOJ official Bruce G. Ohr, worked for the opposition research business in the summer and fall of 2016 ahead of the presidential election, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence investigators told Fox News on Monday.
However, committee investigators did not divulge whether Nellie Ohr contributed to the controversial memo.
Republican lawmakers are currently investigating whether the document prompted a probe into Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page after it was handed over to the FBI in July 2016.
“The House Intelligence Committee is looking into all facets of the connections between the Department of Justice and Fusion GPS, including Mr. Ohr,” Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., told Fox News on Monday.
Bruce Ohr, DOJ’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Director, was also an associate deputy attorney general until meetings he had last year with Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson and Christopher Steel, the ex-British spy responsible for the dossier, came to light on Dec. 7.
So what’s the end game? In light of these revelations, President Trump is calling for an investigation into Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, which given the ridiculous number of conflicts of interest (don’t get me started on unethical, sleazy prosecutor Andrew Weismann, handpicked by Mueller for this witch hunt), seems appropriate.
