Is it just me, or did it seem that she was allowed to go on for an awfully long time? Not only that, does anyone else wonder how Medea Benjamin got into this important foreign policy speech by the President? Ms. Benjamin is a well-known figure in D.C. It’s not as if inside-the-Beltway people don’t know who she is, and wouldn’t recognize her on sight. She and her group are also notorious for disrupting speeches by public figures. As noted here in the Huffington Post:

“The long-time Code Pink protestor (and HuffPost blogger) is a fixture on Capitol Hill and well known to most D.C. reporters.”

Her behavior yesterday was completely predictable and probably expected. Her presence at this event, and all the many others at which she has been a spectacle of herself, is not accidental.

I love the way Obama referred to her as “that woman,” as if he didn’t know who she is. PULEEZE. Who is he kidding? Medea Benjamin has been an emissary for him from Hamas, for heaven’s sake!

So why was she allowed to go so long? Could it be that B. Hussein’s handlers were using her to burnish his credentials as an anti-terrorist hawk, a guy who is tough on our terrorist enemies? After all, to the average distracted person who saw this outburst on the network “news,” it appears that Barack Obama is occupying the reasonable middle. Once again, he is allowed to masquerade as a centrist, when in reality he continues to be what he has been for at least 30 years, a hard-wired, radical leftist hell bent on payback against racist, evil Amerika.

Nice try. I’m not buying it.

Attorney General Eric Holder signed off on a controversial search warrant that identified Fox News reporter James Rosen as a “possible co-conspirator” in violations of the Espionage Act and authorized seizure of his private emails, a law enforcement official told NBC News on Thursday.

The disclosure of the attorney general’s role came as President Barack Obama, in a major speech on his counterterrorism policy, said Holder had agreed to review Justice Department guidelines governing investigations that involve journalists.
“I am troubled by the possibility that leak investigations may chill the investigative journalism that holds government accountable,” Obama said. “Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs.”

Of course, Barack Obama reiterated recently that he has “complete confidence” in Eric Holder.

A terrified woman from Josephine County, Oregon, dialed 911 to report that her violent ex-boyfriend is trying to break into her home, but in response she was told that there are no officers on duty to help her.

The cash-strapped sheriff’s department in the county had been forced to lay off 23 of its 29 deputies after losing millions in federal aid. The remaining six officers had their shifts slashed to eight hours Monday through Friday.

Unfortunately for the woman faced with an out-of-control jilted lover, her 911 call came on a Saturday.

Eventually, the crazed man forced his way into the house, choked his former girlfriend and raped her without no one there to stop him.

The suspect, Michael Bellah, was later arrested and pleaded guilty to kidnapping, assault and sex abuse.

This horrible crime happened last August, and now, in time honored fashion, liberals, and by that I mean the media, are blaming–wait for it–the fact that people in this county don’t pay enough taxes. Also from the Daily Mail story:

The details of her horrific ordeal last August emerged on Tuesday after voters in Josephine and Curry counties with the lowest property taxes in the state turned down tax increases that would have increased the number of officers on the force.

Even if the county residents were to approve the levy, which would have raised taxes from 59 cents to $1.48 per $1,000 of property value for the next three years, it would have been too late for one local woman.

As I write this post, Barack Obama’s nominee for Commerce Secretary, his campaign sugar mama Penny Pritzker is testifying before the Senate Commerce Committee. As it turns out, she also got lots of money from one of those evil offshore accounts.  As the Washington Times notes:

On financial disclosure forms, Ms. Pritzker revealed that she received $53.6 million in income in 2012 from a trust in the Bahamas. The income is described as being paid for “consulting services.” …

The Pritzker family has placed some of its money offshore for decades. Some lawmakers accuse Mr. Obama of hypocrisy for slamming Mr. Romney over the tax havens and then nominating two people for his second-term Cabinet who have held such investments. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew also had an account in the Cayman Islands.

“The president should have the same standard for his opponents as he does for his friends and financial backers,” said Sen. Chuck Grassley, Iowa Republican.

Actually, it was more than $53.6 million. From the Wall Street Journal:

On the eve of her Senate confirmation hearing, commerce-secretary nominee Penny Pritzker alerted Congress that she mistakenly understated her 2012 income by at least $80 million.

The admission came in new financial disclosure documents that Ms. Pritzker filed with the Senate on Tuesday. The newly disclosed payment came from U.S. accounts and was tied to Ms. Pritzker’s work over the past decade carrying out a complex plan to divide her family’s assets—work that included restructuring, managing and selling various trusts, said her assistant, Susan Anderson.

Ms. Anderson said the omission was due to an inadvertent “clerical error.”

“The mistake was discovered by financial advisers to Ms. Pritzker who helped prepare her financial disclosure,” Ms. Anderson said in an emailed statement.

What’s another $30 million? After all, as Barbie reminded us, and as Lois Lerner restated during her planted question revealing that Obama’s IRS had targeted conservative groups, math is tough!

Don’t expect the Lame Stream Media to make more than a cursory mention of the blatant hypocrisy of the Obama administration. They didn’t utter a peep about former chief of staff, now Treasury Secretary Jack Lew’s Cayman Island bank accounts.

Even though in another stunning development, it’s not being reported by the Lame Stream Media, we reported that Chuck Schumer, the architect of this politically-motivated disaster, has admitted that, notwithstanding his many statements to the contrary, illegals will NOT have to repay back taxes. The same Senate committee that is seen here basking in the cheers of those who have no respect for our laws defeated an amendment that declared that the beneficiaries of this amnesty would not be eligible for federal benefits.

Sen. Rubio, let me repeat my warning. You are being played, and you need to run away from this train wreck before you land under it.

A Muslim terrorist has killed a British Woolwich solider in the street of London. The terrorist even bragged about it on video holding the bloody meat cleaver as the dead Woolwich soldier’s body lay in the streets of South London. The terrorist yelled Allahu Ackbar and severed the head of the British solider in typical barbaric Muslim fashion. Right now it is not known if there is just one terrorist, or two. Some reports, such as Sky News report there may be a second terrorist, both with blood-stained hands and holding two bladed weapons.

 

Will LSM report this story? Will they report this gruesome scene ended when these maniacs were shot, as in with guns?

The Senate immigration bill’s authors acknowledged Tuesday that their legislation does not require illegal immigrants to pay all back taxes, saying it would be too difficult to make them ante up everything they might owe.

Sen. Charles E. Schumer, the New York Democrat who is chief sponsor of the bill, said illegal immigrants by definition are living in the shadows, and requiring them to reconstruct their pay history could be tough — and potentially keep many of them from legalization.

Sen. Rubio, don’t walk, run, away from this bill.

Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, long considered a Republican swing vote on the 18-member Senate Judiciary Committee, announced Tuesday night that he will vote the comprehensive immigration reform bill out of committee after the panel approved language relaxing restrictions on employers seeking to hire foreign workers for high-tech jobs. But he cautioned that he may vote against the bill on Senate floor if other changes to the legislation are not made.

Here’s my favorite part of the MS-NBC story:

Earlier Tuesday, the committee voted down an amendment proposed by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz that would have stripped out the Gang of Eight’s foundational principle that qualified undocumented immigrants to the United States should be eligible to work towards full citizenship.  The amendment failed 5-13 , with Hatch joining Gang of Eight Republican Sens. Jeff Flake and Lindsey Graham in voting with Democrats against the measure. Cruz, discussed as a possible 2016 GOP presidential candidate, said the inclusion of the path to citizenship would “only encourage others to violate the law.” The Tea Party-affiliated senator added that, if the pathway remains in the bill, the reform effort will be voted down in the Republican-controlled House. That assertion was flatly rejected by Schumer, who retorted that “if we don’t have a path to citizenship, there is no reform.” Another Cruz-sponsored amendment that would have made undocumented immigrants ineligible for means-tested federal benefits failed 6-12.   Hatch voted in support of that measure.

Oh great. We wouldn’t want them to be ineligible for benefits, would we? This is not good news. I think it’s time to ramp up the pressure on our representatives.
