Gee, Obama, As Long As Your Politicizing Things, How About Visiting Chicago?

Obama jets off the the West Coast on a taxpayer-funded fundraising trip, and inflicts himself on the suffering people of Roseburg, Oregon, while Chicago erupts in violence and murder.

While B. Hussein Obama was jet setting to the West Coast on our dime, on a fundraising trip that he had planned before the Roseburg shooting, his adopted hometown, Chicago, experienced an unfortunate new benchmark. From the Chicago Tribune:

In all, 14 people had been shot, six fatally, over a 15-hour period. In the waning days of the month, Chicago had already recorded 60 homicides, the city’s deadliest September since 2002, according to a Tribune analysis. In fact, September has had more homicides than any other month this year, even more than the traditionally violent summer months. Perhaps not coincidentally, the month has been one of the warmest Septembers in years.

The burst of violence came after two consecutive weekends in which more than 50 people were shot for the first time in the four years that the Tribune has been tracking shootings. And in August, more than 40 were shot on four consecutive weekends.

It was stunning and frankly refreshing to see the left-wing dem apparatchik mayor, Rahm “Tiny Dancer” Emanuel, and politician/Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy do a complete 180, no longer blaming guns or other inanimate objects for the actions of violent, anti-social individuals. NOT REALLY. OF COURSE they still blame the guns!

“Here we go again, I guess is the way I’m looking at this,” said McCarthy, flanked by top department brass and the two officers who drove the 11-month-old baby to the hospital. “I’m furious that children, expectant mothers … are becoming victims of senseless gun violence in this city.”

Is it just me, or does this pathetic pantload sound like a bystander? Hello, Garry? You’re “furious?” It’s “senseless?” Are you kidding me? Aren’t you and Rahm supposed to be in charge of keeping those children and mothers safe?

Sadly, what neither of these clowns will say, is that the sort of social pathology we see in urban areas run by Democrats is the inevitable consequence of liberal policies. The problem isn’t poverty, unless by poverty you mean a poverty of values, a lack of responsible fathers and women who demand that any child they bear be born in wedlock. Until we fix that, we’re going to continue to see this disgusting violence in cities like Chicago.
