Heidi Cruz: Ted is an “Immigrant”

Heidi Cruz said her husband Sen. Ted Cruz is an “immigrant.” Campaign quickly restates and tries to retract it.

We had this story in the Subscriber Show Notes that went out yesterday. Here’s the video, and below the story in which the campaign issues a “clarification.”

Of course, if someone is a citizen of a country, by definition that person is not an “immigrant,” and certainly an “immigrant” cannot be an Article II “natural born citizen.” Or can he? Under the definition embraced by Sen. Cruz and by Barack Obama, is the natural born citizen requirement another part of the Constitution that we have thrown out the window? Could an anchor baby be President of the United States?

Congratulations to Canadian-born Sen. Ted Cruz for winning the GOP Iowa…

Is Ted Cruz an Article II Natural Born Citizen?Does it matter? It’s hard to…

  1. Thanks for your reply, Fran. I agree. Politics is TOUGH! I am sure that Mrs. Cruz regrets her comment. It’s not a big deal to me. After all, I don’t think Sen. Cruz is an Art. II natural born citizen, but after Obama, I have conceded for years that that ship has sailed. I have major issues with some of the things Trump has said, as in “I will raise taxes,” We will “take care of everybody,” blah blah blah. Not good. And I agree: his supporters will support him no matter what.

  2. Cruz is definitely an American citizen, which is very different from being an Article II “natural born citizen.” Otherwise, an anchor baby could be president. Of course, given the success of the Left at dumbing down the population about the Constitution, that requirement is no doubt out the window. Fran, I think that the “anti-Cruz venom” comes from his unfortunate presentation. He comes off as EXTREMELY condescending and sanctimonious unfortunately. True believing conservatives overlook that because we love his articulate explanation of conservative principles, but we have to step out of ourselves and think about how he comes off to the average lo-fo voter, and trust me, that is as a sanctimonious, condescending know it all. Not good. 2008 all over again? I hope not. You could be right, but I doubt it because that was the affirmative action election. Of course you could say that this one will also be an affirmative action election because Hillary will play that “historic” card. (“Vote for me! I will be the first president with a vagina!”), but she is so flawed, I doubt it will work. But then I’ve always been a pathological optimist.
