Here We Go Again: Homeland Security Claims System “Pinged” When Tsarnaev Left USA, but Not on Return. FBI Had No Clue

Remember back before 9/11, before we spent all the money to create the Department of Homeland Security? That was obviously money well spent! From The New York Daily News:

The government knew that alleged Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev traveled to Russia last year, but his return six months later was not flagged because an FBI alert on him had expired, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Tuesday,

“The system pinged when he was leaving the United States. By the time he returned all investigations… had been closed,” Napolitano told the Senate Judiciary Commitee.

Whatever “pinged” means. Regardless, he was still able to post his jihadist YouTube videos and eventually commit the most successful terrorist attack on our soil since 9/11.

Meanwhile, Sen. Lindsay Graham says the FBI told him that they had no idea about Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s movements.

I feel so much safer!
