I Answer A Question from Quora About The Illegal Alien Invasion

The Corrupt Media’s coverage of the Illegal Alien Invasion has inspired some questions, and I am at the ready to answer.

A Question from Quora:

Remember when the corrupt media lied about this photo, taken 4 years ago today while Obama was president?

Did President Barack Obama in his final term separate more than 52,000 children from their families then later place them with ORR?

During Barack Obama’s second term, his decision to promote illegal immigration for political reasons, a deliberate and premeditated effort which was part of his effort keep his promise to “remake” America, led to an invasion of our country by illegal aliens from Central America (El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras).

I’m not certain where you got the 52,000 figure. During  Fiscal Year 2014, the Border Patrol apprehended 68,541 UAC’s (Unaccompanied Alien Children) from these countries; however, interestingly, that 52,000 number does appear in a Daily Beast article from July, 2014, “How Mexico’s Cartels Are Behind the Border Kid Crisis,”:

The cartels are also driving the current border-children crisis in the U.S. Since last October, 52,000 unaccompanied minors were apprehended by Border Patrol.

Those 52,000 would be part of that afore-mentioned 68,541. The Daily Beast article is interesting, and worth reading, exposing the ugly reality of the human and drug trafficking that was facilitated by the Obama administration’s policies.

According to the ORR (Office of Refugee Resettlement) webpage on the Health and Human Services site, 53,518 children were released to sponsors in FY 2014.You can see the numbers broken down by state and county here. This page, which has a table showing data for FY 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. It also contains this interesting, and very inaccurate, statement:

HHS has strong policies in place to ensure the privacy and safety of UAC by maintaining the confidentiality of their personal information. These children may have histories of abuse or may be seeking safety from threats of violence. Many have been trafficked or smuggled. HHS cannot release information about individual UAC that could compromise the child’s location or identity.

Unfortunately, according to this very lengthy AP story from January, 2016, none of this is true. As the flood of illegals invading the country swelled, because the word got out that once a “child” (some of whom were determined to be in their 30’s) got here, they were home free because of the desire of the Obama administration to facilitate illegal immigration, they gradually relaxed the requirements for these “guardians,’ no longer requiring finger printing or birth certificates and not making personal visits to the locations where the children were going to live. Some were turned over to human traffickers and people who placed them into virtual slavery. The AP article is well worth reading to understand what happened.

So the direct answer to your question is “no.” Obama didn’t separate families. The irresponsible and disgusting parents who were seeking to import their own anchor baby into this country. Remember they entered the country unaccompanied. Their parents separated the families. Still, Obama’s policies and the fact that the word spread in Central America that he had lawlessly implemented a de facto amnesty caused this horrible mess, and facilitate the activities of drug cartels and human traffickers.
