Napolitano Out as Sec. of Dept. of Homeland Security, Durbin in?

I’ll say it again. You can’t make this stuff up.

From the essential Illinois Review:

The LA Times is reporting that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will announce her resignation to become president of the University of California system some time in September.

The former governor of Arizona is expected to get a huge raise. Her proposed salary has not been released. Her Cabinet salary is about $200,000, which is a third of the annual $591,000 that current UC president Mark G. Yudof makes.

Rumor is Obama may look at replacing Napolitano with U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin. Stay tuned.

Seriously? Dick “Eddie Haskell” Durbin as Secretary of Homeland Security? Oh, that should make everyone feel so much better about that behemoth Obamacare-like amnesty bill that Schumer and Obama are trying to use to deliver the coups de grace to this country.

And now that Harry Reid and Obama are contemplating the next step in completing Barack Obama’s installation as Supreme Ruler by abandoning the current filibuster rules, what’s to stop them?

  1. And then what…Gun Grabber Quinn puts Ill AG Lisa Madigan in Durbin’s seat?

  2. What shenanigans… has the DHS improved under this administration, or has it worsened? Some time ago, last year, the rumors were floating about that Durbin would actually take over HHS… but who’d want to be in charge of that mess? And isn’t that even being delayed or pushed back a year? An election year no doubt. It all has me recalling ’10 when they first rammed PPACA down the Americans’ throats, but then balked at passing a federal budget… thus kicking the can down the road to ’11 when in Apr of that year we saw a Poll that said Republicans would be held to blame for any government shutdown due to no budget being in place. Really?! There are a lot of people who need to wake up, smell the house is on fire, and either do one of two things: fight the fire, or get out. In all honesty what I’m trying to say is, regardless of ones political affiliation, these houses need to be cleaned — and cleaned thoroughly.

  3. Perfect! Maybe Quinn will appoint Lisa Madigan as Senator to remove her as a threat to his re-election. Ain’t it great? Or maybe Roland Burris! Woohoo! Or maybe… dare I say?… Danny K. Davis! My life would be complete!

    Not.
