Except that they don’t actually have to be “transgender,” as in they don’t have to have undergone any medical procedures to change what’s in their pants or under their skirts, because as the Sec. of Education says, they want to “do what’s right for students.”
With a rotten economy, an illegal alien invasion, and the importation of thousands of unvetted Muslims from jihadist hotbeds into our country, Barack Obama’s promised “remaking” of America is going swimmingly. Way to go, Obama voters! You’ve got to be so proud of what you gave the rest of us. And now, there’s this. At least the Obama Regime has its priorities straight.
The Obama administration has released its guidance directing public schools to allow transgender students to use bathrooms corresponding with their gender identity.
The Departments of Education and Justice on Friday sent the guidance to all U.S. public schools that receive federal money in order to “ensure that all students, including transgender students, can attend school in an environment free from discrimination based on sex.”
The guidance cites Title X of the Education Amendments of 1972 that prohibits schools receiving federal money from discriminating based on a student’s sex, including a student’s transgender status. The guidance clarifies the law to put schools on notice that both the Education and the Justice Departments are interpreting the law to include a student’s gender identity as the student’s sex.
“There is no room in our schools for discrimination of any kind, including discrimination against transgender students on the basis of their sex,” Attorney General Loretta Lynch said in a statement. “This guidance gives administrators, teachers and parents the tools they need to protect transgender students from peer harassment and to identify and address unjust school policies.”
The letter sent to schools from the Regime says:
“A school may not require transgender students to use facilities inconsistent with their gender identity or to use individual-user facilities when other students are not required to do so,” according to the letter.
“Facilities,” which means not just restrooms, but also locker rooms.
This “guidance” doesn’t have force of law. It’s just a suggestion, one accompanied by the threat of the loss of millions in federal funds. Nice little school you’ve got there. Shame if anything happened to it. Is it just me, or does anyone else find it ironic that liberals, who are incessantly wringing their hands about “bullying” are engaging in exactly that? It’s like that Aldus Huxley quote we play on The Teri O’Brien Show: “Everyone who wants to do good to the human race always ends in universal bullying.”
Given that biologic boys and girls will be permitted into the same bathroom, what could possibly go wrong? They used to have to go to the backseat of a car. Now a quickie between first and second period is a definite possibility.
I am certainly glad that we didn’t have these goofballs in charge when I was a high school student. I would have gotten kidney disease because of fear of using the bathroom at school, lest I risk seeing some guy’s equipment.
Home schooling anyone?
