So last night our Dear Reader snuck into Afghanistan with country singer Brad Paisley and cold as ice apparatchik John Podesta. You don’t suppose this show of support for the troops has anything to do with his sinking approval ratings, especially on foreign policy, and his administration’s disgraceful handling of the Veterans’ Administration? Some might think the inclusion of Podesta makes the political nature of this trip more than obvious. Once again, our brave heroes are props to try to bolster the approval rating of this pathetic empty suit. Nice “optics” that I’m sure Mr. Podesta appreciates.
Will he’ll mention his plan to triple premiums for Tri Care, the health care program serving the military and their families? From Yahoo News:
The administration’s admitted objective to Congress, as reported by the Washington Free Beacon, is “to force military retirees to reduce their involvement in Tricare and eventually opt out of the program in favor of alternatives established by the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare.”
Under the new plan, Tricare annual premiums will increase 30 percent to 78 percent in the first year. After that the plan more than triples the premium payment in five-year increases ranging from 94 percent to 345 percent.
“According to congressional assessments,” Free Beacon reported, “a retired Army colonel with a family currently paying $460 a year for health care will pay $2,048.”
Oh, but Obama cares. He REALLY REALLY cares. More here.
