Once Again, Col. Allen West Nails It

In addition to reading the Declaration as part of your Independence Day celebration, I recommend that you read Allen West’s column, published in today’s Washington Times, “The Balkanized States of America.” From the piece:

We have become a nation of “special interests” – but what interest can be more special than preserving the greatness of the United States of America and the freedoms of all its citizens?

We have politicians who would rather divide us based on income, gender or race than unite us as Americans. They want citizens to believe that “all men were created equal” really means “all men are entitled to an equal share.” They want their fellow Americans to believe anyone else’s economic success always comes at their own expense.

Those same politicians build their careers and re-election on the promise to redress these differences and guarantee equality of achievement – an impossible task unless we are all reduced to mindless, identical drones.

It is a seductive and dangerous promise that ultimately will lead to the destruction of our nation. As Alexis de Tocqueville repeatedly observed, “The majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.”

I think that’s exactly what the One has in mind, don’t you?

  1. Always been a fan of old Alexis.

“No vice of the human heart suits it [despotism] better than egoism: a despot will be quick to forgive the people he governs for not loving him, provided they do not love one another.”

if we’re going to defeat the left, we have to be successful at fragmenting them like they’ve fragmented the right. Thanks to the media influence, the right consists of millions of “parties of one”, who snipe at each other over everything and agree about nothing. It may be impossible to unite the right, but we can damned sure fragment the left, making them hate one another, turning brother against brother. The watchwords for the revival of the republic are these: Infiltrate. Instigate. Make them weak by making them fight within their ranks. Use Alinsky against them.

  2. Allen West supports NDAA which violates the 4th Amendment of the Constitution. And by the way, check out what one so-called representative did to rile up a bunch of REAL tea partiers.

  3. An impressive share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing a little analysis on this. And he in fact bought me breakfast because I found it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love reading more on this topic. If possible, as you become expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more details? It is highly helpful for me. Big thumb up for this blog post!

  4. Allen West would be a great VP for Romney. Romney needs someone who can speak freely, simply and decisively. Romney is too busy weighing pros and cons of everything he says, and he has bad advisers, who are not helping him achieve the naturalness of a West or a Rand Paul.
