Obama’s Weekly Address, 1-1-16
Obama has always despised the 2nd Amendment and he wants your gun.
The video above, the One’s Weekly address, would be hilarious, if the guy who stars in it weren’t in the process of taking America over a cliff.
Some High (Low) lights:
- Taking credit for the terrific economy while labor participation is at the lowest levels since the 1970’s
- Taking credit for the Obamacare train wreck, while exchanges collapse and large insurers like United Health express doubt of the ability to continue to participate
- Celebrating the Supreme Court’s breathtakingly lawless imposition of so-called “same sex marriage” on all 50 states
- Expressing understanding that we can’t prevent all gun violence, but saying “what if we tried to stop even one?” when his foreign policy and full court press to change the country’s demographics make us less safe with every passing minute.
Many of us predicted that in his last year, Obama will be more lawless than he was in the previous 6, so this latest despicable act of tyranny is not a surprise. As he continues his “remaking” America project, making us less safe by chipping away at our precious 2nd Amendment rights while at the same time throwing the border wide open and inviting jihadists into the country (can you say Tashfeen Malik?), he laments the Americans “mowed down” by firearms, and begs his low-information supports to help him fight the “loud” gun lobby.
Before you get out your magic pen and phone again, would you mind answering a few questions; specifically,
Why aren’t you enforcing the gun laws currently on the books?
From The Washington Times:
The administration has overseen a striking drop in prosecutions of gun crimes, winning only about 6,000 convictions in 2015 — down more than 15 percent from five years ago, and giving added weight to claims by gun rights groups that President Obama has failed to enforce the laws already on the books.
As a series of high-profile mass shootings has drawn attention to the issue, Mr. Obama has pushed for ever-stricter gun laws prohibiting sales of some firearms and paraphernalia, and more controls on whom they can be sold to.
But the push comes as his lawyers at the Justice Department are winning fewer cases using the laws already passed to ban criminals from buying or owning firearms, according to data compiled by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University.
The trend predates Mr. Obama, with convictions peaking at 9,206 a decade ago but dropping to 6,002 in fiscal year 2015 — a fall of more than a third.
Part of the reason is prosecutors are simply bringing fewer cases.
If gun violence is a problem that you are concerned about, why did you pardon drug offenders who committed crimes with guns?
From USA Today:
President Obama’s decision to shorten the sentences of 95 federal prisoners Friday continued a continuing trend toward Christmastime clemency that’s being criticized as part of “a broken process.”
Obama said the clemency grants — the largest single-day use of his pardon power in his presidency to date — “another step forward in upholding our fundamental ideals of justice and fairness.”
He also gave complete pardons to two people involved in counterfeiting and bank fraud, the White House announced.
Most of the commutations to shorter sentences dealt with drug offenders given long mandatory minimum sentences, but also included 15 gun crimes — usually while committing a drug offense — and one armed bank robbery. (emphasis mine)
Why, if you are so concerned about innocent people being mowed down by guns, why have you thrown open the border, allowing anyone and everyone to enter the country?
Have you ever heard of Grant Ronnenbeck? No? Here’s a reminder from AZ Central:
The man accused of gunning down a Mesa convenience-store clerk over a pack of cigaretteswas facing deportation proceedings but had been released from federal custody on bond, authorities said Monday.
Federal immigration authorities launched the proceedings two years ago against Apolinar Altamirano, but he was released on a $10,000 bond shortly after his conviction on a burglary charge.
While Altamirano, 29, was out of custody, two injunctions against harassment were issued against him by a Mesa Municipal Court judge. “I am in fear for my life,” one woman wrote, adding that Altamirano had threatened to kill her “plenty of times” and pointed a gun at her boyfriend, according to court records.
The latest order was served on Altamirano on Jan. 19. Three days later, he was accused of first-degree murder in the slaying of Grant Ronnebeck, 21, a Quik Trip clerk who was shot to death after Altamirano dumped a jar of change on a counter at 4 a.m. and demanded a pack of cigarettes, according to police.
There’s one that could have prevented, if the dirtbag perp had been deported. Or was he a “DREAMER,” Sir?
Why are you in favor of allowing hundreds of thousands of “refugees” from jihadist hotbeds into the United States when your own FBI director says we cannot vet them?
I’m not making that up. You can watch here.
Three years ago, after the Sandy Hook murders, you issued 23 executive actions regarding guns, yet there have been over 1000 mass shootings in the continental United States. If executive actions were effective against violence, why didn’t the ones issued after Sandy Hook stop those?
I realize that there is zero chance that any of those crusading seekers of truth in the media will ask these questions. I don’t hold out much hope for the lapdog GOP in Congress, either. Still, these questions are definitely worth asking, don’t you think?
