God rumored to have said “Uh no.”
Donald Trump recently promised to “work something out” for so-called Dreamers, and one Democratic congressman believes God is happy with the president-elect’s apparent change of heart.
“Being a nation of immigrants, I think it’s important we embrace that kind of hope … I would say to the president-elect, ‘I appreciate you showing your heart. And if it’s a little softer, what’s wrong with that? God would be pleased,’” Rep. Charlie Crist, Florida Democrat, said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
“We’re going to work something out that’s going to make people happy and proud,” Mr. Trump told Time magazine in December. “They got brought here at a very young age, they’ve worked here, they’ve gone to school here. Some were good students. Some have wonderful jobs. And they’re in never-never land because they don’t know what’s going to happen.”
MMM… not a feel good. I’m sorry , but as those of you who are regular readers here and listeners to The Teri O’Brien Show know, I have ZERO sympathy for the “through no fault of their own” argument about the progeny of people who willfully broke America’s immigration laws and violated our sovereignty. When adults make bad choices, children ALWAYS suffer. If a Wall Street trader doesn’t pay his taxes, and ends up going to prison, will his children suffer? Of course! Does that mean we should not enforce the tax laws? How about the children of bank robbers, drug dealers or murderers? No, this “through no fault of their own” is just the latest iteration of the Left’s threadbare “what about the children?!!” routine.
As for Charlie Crist, he’s the worst spokesman for God I’ve seen since the guy in this song. Actually, I think the song guy is probably a better spokesman for God. I doubt that he’s ever called Hilary Clinton “honest.”
