Ruh Roh.Talk about stepping in it! All those “ugly” women, according to former Governor Ed Rendell, is bad for Donald Trump.
Apparently, Governor Rendell doesn’t think there are a lot of “10’s” in Pennsylvannia, and that “ugly” women will help defeat Donald Trump.
Thought experiment: can you imagine what would happen if Donald Trump said this same thing?
The Washington Post article, “Trump’s appeal stretches to suburbs that had been trending blue,” discusses hand-wringing among democrats about Donald Trump apparently making inroads in the suburbs that have been trending toward democrats. In it, former PA governor and enthusiastic Hillary supporter Ed Rendell explains why Donald Trump may have trouble getting votes from women.
“Will he have some appeal to working-class Dems in Levittown or Bristol? Sure,” said Ed Rendell, the former Pennsylvania governor and Philadelphia mayor, who won landslides in the suburbs. “For every one he’ll lose one and a half, two Republican women. Trump’s comments like, ‘You can’t be a 10 if you’re flat-chested,’ that’ll come back to haunt him. There are probably more ugly women in America than attractive women. People take that stuff personally.”
Later he said of his comments that “[i]t was just dumb, and stupid, and insensitive, and if I offended anyone, I apologize.”
“Ugly?” That’s a particularly unfortunate, and very revealing choice of words, isn’t it? Most of us lie somewhere on the spectrum between super model and this “woman” in terms of our looks, but that’s a particularly harsh way to describe those who aren’t likely to mistaken for beauty contest winners.
Isn’t it interesting that, once again, the democrats, who constantly bleat about sexism are unmasked as being guilty of the very things they accuse their opponents of doing? Governor Rendell thinks that some women are so emotionally driven that since Donald Trump said something mean that hurt their feelings, he’s dead to them. The stagnant economy? Terrorism? The illegal alien invasion? Screw those things! Donald Trump, that sexist bastard, judges women by their appearance (just like every other man on the planet), so that’s it!
Perhaps Governor Rendell’s comments result from his living in a democrat bubble, where he is surrounded by democrat women, and, not to be uncharitable, but didn’t we just recently learn that, according to a recent study, they appear less feminine than Republican women? We laughed about that on a recent episode of our weekly comedy video show, The Kidders. (Watch us do so here at ~7:38)
One more question for Governor Rendell: In your eyes, is Hillary a 10? What say you?
