Summer Hiatus for The Teri O’Brien Show

I want to thank all of you who have been reaching out to me after I announced on last Sunday’s show about The Teri O’Brien Show going on hiatus.

I want to thank all of you who have been reaching out to me after I announced on last Sunday’s show about The Teri O’Brien Show going on hiatus, at least through mid-September. If I haven’t yet responded to your note, please rest assured that I shall. I so appreciate your thoughtful notes! As I said in that last edition of the show, as in last week’s show, but who knows?–depending on our continuing review of the numbers, it may indeed be the last show period–many people in the last couple of years have expressed how much they LOVE the show, however, not even half of them contributed even $5/month to keep it going. What is that–16.5 cents a day? I’m not upset by that, but it clearly proves that the show was not providing very much value to many of the people who listened.

In addition, most did not do other things to support the show, things that don’t cost anything, such as sharing the episodes on their social networks, commenting regularly at teriobrien.com and sharing the posts there, starting their Amazon shopping at teriobrien.com, or signing up for an Audible free trial using our link (http://www.audibletrial.com/DangerousThinkers). Our mission was to put our audience ahead of the curve and tell them the information they need to be informed citizens, and I think we accomplished that objective most of the time. I can’t even count the number of times that one of the large syndicated shows on the last-century terrestrial radio would talk about a story or play a soundbite on Monday (or frankly, often Tuesday or Wednesday) that we talked about or played on Sunday. Clearly, that is not of tremendous value to as people as we thought. So that’s where we are. Enjoy the rest of your summer, and check in at teriobrien.com to stay up to date with where we are. You can sign up for our free e-newsletter there. Don’t worry: we don’t send them out unless we have some actual news. We know you get too much email as it is.

Until next time, please remember to stay tough because only the strong can stay free.
