Obama Affordable Care Act “Trainwreck” Derails Max Baucus’ Re-Election

As we discussed on last Sunday’s edition of The Teri O’Brien Show, last week while questioning Sec. of Health and Human Services, Kathleen “Nurse Ratchet” Sebelius, Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) demonstrated that he is afflicted with a bizarre form of amnesia. How else can we explain that the author of Obamacare was suddenly predicting that it would be a “train wreck,” a fact that was obvious before this scheme was enacted? Oh wait …he’s up for re-election in 2014. Or he was. Apparently he has seen the handwriting on the wall. From The Hill:

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) is retiring, a source has told The Hill.

The longtime chairman of the Senate’s tax-writing panel faced a difficult reelection contest in Montana, a state easily won by Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election.

It wasn’t just the ACA train wreck, as the Hill story notes:

Baucus also has made several votes against his party in recent weeks, including voting against the Senate Democratic budget and legislation tightening background checks on gun purchases.

The Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC), a prominent liberal advocacy group, bought a series of newspaper ads in Montana over the weekend attacking Baucus for his gun vote.

He was angered this week by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) decision to bring an online sales tax bill directly to the Senate floor for a vote rather than first having it go through Finance. Baucus opposes the legislation. …

Baucus joins four other Democratic senators who have announced they won’t seek reelection in 2014, including Sens. Frank Lautenberg (N.J.), Jay Rockefeller (W. Va.), Tom Harkin (Iowa) and Carl Levin (Mich.).

Granted we have a long time until November 2014, but it’s looking good for the GOP, provided that they don’t manage to screw it up somehow, like say by supporting amnesty for illegal aliens.

There They Go Again. Left Resuscitates Its Big Lie Campaign on Medicare (Which is More Than They’d Do for Granny)

Remember this despicably dishonest ad?

As I noted yesterday, this bunch is intellectually bankrupt. They haven’t had an original idea in over 100 years. I know they like recycling, but this is ridculous! Now, to celebrate Paul Ryan’s release of his proposed budget plan, they are resuscitating, a word I use deliberately in an ironic way, since given their support for Obamacare, which raided Medicare and which instituted the IPAB (read death panel), their “Throw Granny off the cliff” ad. Here’s Part 2.

Congressman Ryan wants to repeal Obamacare, cut $4.6 trillion in spending over the next 10 years, and block grant Medicaid and food stamps to states.

Groups like the Agenda Project are lying when they accuse Cong. Ryan of trying to destroy Medicare for current seniors. He is trying to save it for them. If nothing is done, they will have the rug pulled out from under them in a very few years, and those who are engaging in this shameless and disgusting fear mongering to advance their political agendas know it.

Tomorrow liberal hag Sen. Patty Murray, and if you can think of anyone more qualified to manage this country’s fiscal affairs, I’d like to see that person, will release her budget. Get your shocked face ready. It will propose over $1 trillion in new “revenue,” meaning taxes on the productive members of society, your hard-earned money sent to Washington D.C. so that democrats can spend it on their pet projects, funnel it into the pockets of their cronies, and otherwise dispose of it less wisely than a roomful of crack addicts on a 5 day binge.

Leave it to national embarrassment Sen. Dick “Eddie Haskell” Durbin to use his razor-sharp intellect to put everything in perspective when describing these dueling budget plans.

“It will be a stark contrast,” said Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.)

How To Force Your Congressman to Change His Underwear. Show Notes-2/24/13 Show

Thanks to our special guest Betsy McCaughey, author of Beating Obamacare: Your Handbook for the New Healthcare Lawfor sharing some essential information about the federal government’s takeover of our healthcare system. Did you know that you might be headed for Medicaid next year? Did you also know that patients covered by Medicaid have worse outcomes than the uninsured? Did you know that even if you retain your private insurance, the federal government will review your doctor’s decisions about your care?

On February 15, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing one of America’s leading experts on the 2nd amendment, David Kopel, and we heard Part 1 of the interview as part of this week’s 2nd Amendment Update. Part 2 will air next week.

Sunday Shows: the Regime sends buffoonish dullard/former Illinois GOP stooge Sec. of Defense Ray LaHood to CNN’s “State of the Union” and NBC’s “Meet The Press” to describe the parade of horribles that will befall us if we deprive the federal government of a single dime. Surprisingly (no, not really), hapless LaHood had no answer when Candy Crowley asked why he was warning of grounded planes and air traffic delays when (1) the FAA’s budget has increased $500 billion since 2008 and (2) the number of domestic flights is down 27% since 9/11, while the FAA budget is up 41%. Suggestion: if you want to get your congressman to wet himself, especially if he is a democrat, call and see if he can do what LaHood couldn’t or wouldn’t do; that is, answer these questions. Obama needs to stop whining about the sequester, since it was his idea, and he has spending the last week conducting a clinic on demagoguery, lying through his teeth about that fact, and the fact that any pain felt by the public will be because he is choosing it. He’s trying to tell us that he has no choice but to furlough meat inspectors and air traffic controllers because of a 2% decrease in the rate of growth rather than cutting out some bureaucratic bloat? Overcoming Obamacare, Plus Obama’s War on the 2nd Amendment-Today on The Teri O’Brien Show

This week we learned that, in addition to his many other talents, Joe Biden is also a firearms’ expert. Who knew? He got a little testy during what he thought would be another anti-Second Amendment agitprop fest, this time for Parents’ magazine, when a questioner suggested that the administration’s proposals might make it difficult for law-abiding Americans to defend themselves, and offered the sage advice he gave his wife, specifically, get a shot gun and if you hear a noise, go out on the back porch and fire a couple of blasts. Note to Girl Scouts: don’t show up unannounced at the Biden house!

Could that shotgun, which the clearly clueless Mr. Biden thinks is easier to shoot than an AR-15, be banned by the Obama administration? Yes, it could, according to David Kopel, Research Director of Colorado’s Independence Institute, Adjunct Professor of Advanced Constitutional Law, Denver University, Sturm College of Law, and one of America’s leading experts  on the 2nd Amendment. He’ll join us, and share his thoughts about what the Obama administration has in mind to trample on our 2nd Amendment rights.

Sadly, our hopes of ridding America of the scourge of Obamacare, at least anytime soon, evaporated last November with the re-election of Barack Obama. Now that we’re stuck with it, how will it affect you and your family? We’ll get answers from someone who has been fighting the federal government’s takeover of our health care system for over 20 years, Dr. Betsy McCaughey. Her new book, Beating Obamacare, is an essential handbook for protecting yourself. Despite what Nancy Pelosi said, you don’t have to read the law to find out what’s in it. We’l tell you today.

Barack Obama put on a clinic in demagoguery earlier this week, shaking his fists over the scary “sequester,” that even Jay Carney has admitted was his idea. The administration’s point man on the Sunday morning shows is the poster boy for the fact that politics is the last refuge of the mediocre, the buffoonish “Republican” Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood. He goes on the Sunday shows, and hilarity ensues.

It’s Oscar Sunday, and it’s clear now why so many in Hollywood love the film “Lincoln.” Plus Producer Thomas’ list of conservative movies you’d love to see.

Tune in today for the rest of the story.

Everything He Says is a Lie, Including “A” and “The”-Obama’s State of the Union Liefest

Obama is a Liar

H/T for graphic: http://westernhero.blogspot.com

Being well-informed in the Age of Obama is like being the only grownup in a room full of four year olds who still believe in the Tooth Fairy. Every day you find yourself bombarded by an incessant series of inaccurate, deceptive half-truths or even blatant falsehoods, from the moral and intellectual pygmies that pass as our leaders. You know that they are lying, and you know that they know that they are lying. Yet you are expected to watch supposedly serious people masquerading as journalists, not only refuse to challenge this baloney, but cheerfully celebrate it, and help con millions of Americans in the process. There hasn’t been such a corrupt, partisan media, a bunch of pathetic, slobbering sycophantic toadies to the Regime since Stalinist Russia.

That’s why I don’t blame anyone who didn’t watch Tuesday night’s State of the Union liefest, starring the aforementioned Dear Reader, who indeed does have a gift, as he bragged to Sen. Harry Reid. His gift is the ability to read ridiculous, barefaced lies from his TelePrompTer, glibly, appearing, at least to the low-info crowd, eloquent and sincere while doing it.

Because I watch so you don’t have to, I can report that last night’s performance was no exception. The Emperor had no clothes (and not in the way that Chicago Sun-Times “serious” reporter Lynn “Obama Girl” Sweet would hope), and unfortunately, there was no child to yell You lie!” as Rep. Joe Wilson did so well and so accurately back in the day.

Where to begin describing this mess? This guy sells more Whoppers than Burger King, and I’m not going to bore you by making you listen to every single one. It’s sort of like Mr. Justice Holmes said about the rules of evidence; that is, they are a concession to the shortness of human life, and so is limiting a list of last night’s deceptive statements. Let me list my favorites. If you are interested in more, here’s the transcript.

“Already, the Affordable Care Act is helping to slow the growth of health-care costs.”

Seriously? I don’t think so. From Forbes:

Premiums have increased by an average of $3,065. And they’re about to go up even more, as Obamacare takes effect during the president’s second term.

At the end of 2012, Mark Bertolini, the CEO of Aetna, the third-largest health insurer in the country, warned that many consumers would face “premium rate shock” with the advent of Obamacare’s major insurance regulations in 2014. He predicted that unsubsidized premiums would rise 20 to 50 percent, on average.

For some people, premiums would double. “We’re going to see some markets go up as much as 100 percent,” Bertolini told Bloomberg News.

Aetna isn’t the only company forecasting higher health-insurance premiums. In California, Blue Shield has asked regulators to approve premium increases of up to 20 percent. Obamacare’s new regulations were a factor in the request. A spokesperson for the company said the new law “will bring a lot of volatility” into the market.

A shock? Not to those who’ve been paying attention. When Obamacare was making its way through Congress, the Congressional Budget Office warned that premiums in the individual market would increase by 10-13 percent.

But wait. Didn’t the One tell us in 2008 that the average family’s health insurance premiums would go down $2500? See above re that “gift”  thing.

“Let’s agree, right here, right now, to keep the people’s government open, pay our bills on time, and always uphold the full faith and credit of the United States of America.”

Oh yes, Mr. Fiscal Responsibility, he of the trillion dollar per year deficits. Speaking of the deficit, didn’t he promise to cut it in half by end of his first term? Never mind. As long as we’re being all grown up and fiscally responsible, perhaps you might want to get on the blower to Harry Reid, and when after he’s done telling you how much he’s been enjoying your rhetorical brilliance, mention to him that the Senate hasn’t lived up to its legal obligation to pass a budget in over four years. In addition, there’s that first-time in U.S. history credit downgrade on his watch. Way to hold up that full faith and credit, my man!

“Tonight, I propose working with states to make high-quality preschool available to every child in America.”

Isn’t this the same guy who killed a school choice program for poor kids trapped in failing D.C. schools to please his union buddies? He has as much credibility on the issue of quality education as he has on skeet shooting.

“Tonight, let’s declare that in the wealthiest nation on Earth, no one who works full-time should have to live in poverty, and raise the federal minimum wage to $9.00 an hour.”

I’ve never understood why these leftist idiots, who can’t buy a clue when it comes to understanding free enterprise, don’t propose raising the minimum wage to $100,000 a year. Better yet, why not $250,000 a year? Then every employee could pay more taxes and help eliminate that deficit that Obama is so concerned about. They actually believe that if they raise the minimum wage to $9.00 an hour, poor people will have more money to spend. Wrong. They will have no jobs. I guess that doesn’t matter, though. More food stamps for all!

“All this work depends on the courage and sacrifice of those who serve in dangerous places at great personal risk – our diplomats, our intelligence officers, and the men and women of the United States Armed Forces.”

You mean like Ambassador J Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, and Glen Doherty?

I’ll give him this. The demagogic screeching conclusion promoting his anti-2nd Amendment scheme, reminiscent of a Leni Riefenstahl documentary, was an especially nice touch. It probably woke up all the people, including Justice Ginsberg, who fell asleep watching this disaster.

The immortal words of Mary McCarthy are particularly applicable to this man. Everything he says is a lie, including “a” and “the.”

Surprise! Union Thugs, Obama Supporters Realize That They’ve Been Had

Whatever else you can say, or not say about him, Barack Obama is a master con man. Now that he has been safely re-elected, many are realizing that the pending nightmare that we tried to warn them about is unfolding just as we predicted. Of course, the One’s signature achievement, the federal government’s takeover of the health care system, is the key to all the rest of his plans for us. Now that we passed the bill, and are finding out what’s in it, it turns out that a lot of people aren’t happy, including some of the law’s enthusiastic supporters. From the Wall Street Journal story entitled “Some Unions Grow Wary of Health Law They Backed,”

Labor unions enthusiastically backed the Obama administration’s health-care overhaul when it was up for debate. Now that the law is rolling out, some are turning sour. Union leaders say many of the law’s requirements will drive up the costs for their health-care plans and make unionized workers less competitive. Among other things, the law eliminates the caps on medical benefits and prescription drugs used as cost-containment measures in many health-care plans. It also allows children to stay on their parents’ plans until they turn 26. …

John Wilhelm, chairman of Unite Here Health, the insurance plan for 260,000 union workers at places including hotels, casinos and airports, recalls standing next to Barack Obama at a rally in Nevada when he was a 2008 presidential candidate.

“I heard him say, ‘If you like your health plan, you can keep it,’ ” Mr. Wilhelm recalled. Mr. Wilhelm said he expects the administration will craft a solution so that employer health-care plans won’t be hurt. “If I’m wrong, and the president does not intend to keep his word, I would have severe second thoughts about the law.”

Mr. Wilhelm, how do I break the truth to you? You expect the Obama administration to craft a solution? Do you also believe in the tooth fairy? I’ve got news for you, my gullible friend. This is their solution, and you can expect a continuing parade of horrors over the next year as the full scope of this mess is revealed. You know those senior citizens who withdraw cash from their savings accounts on the promise of getting their share of “found money?” It’s called “the pigeon drop,” and, in this case, you and anyone else who trusted the spawn of the corrupt Chicago machine by way of ACORN, the former Barry Soetoro, are the pigeons. Sadly, though, unlike the classic con, thanks to you, the rest of us have been dragged into this scam. Nicely played!

Meanwhile, Shazam! We’ve discovered another teensy weensy “glitch” in the law, on that the IRS regulations just released will not fix. From The Cherokee Tribune (Canton, GA):

Some families could get priced out of health insurance due to what’s being called a glitch in President Barack Obama’s overhaul law. IRS regulations issued Wednesday failed to fix the problem as liberal backers of the president’s plan had hoped.

As a result, some families that can’t afford the employer coverage that they are offered on the job will not be able to get financial assistance from the government to buy private health insurance on their own. How many people will be affected is unclear.

The Obama administration says its hands were tied by the way Congress wrote the law. Officials said the administration tried to mitigate the impact. Families that can’t get coverage because of the glitch will not face a tax penalty for remaining uninsured, the IRS rules said.

Congress said affordable coverage can’t cost more than 9.5 percent of family income. People with coverage the law considers affordable cannot get subsidies to go into the new insurance markets. The purpose of that restriction was to prevent a stampede away from employer coverage.Congress went on to say that what counts as affordable is keyed to the cost of self-only coverage offered to an individual worker, not his or her family. A typical workplace plan costs about $5,600 for an individual worker. But the cost of family coverage is nearly three times higher, about $15,700, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. So if the employer isn’t willing to chip in for family premiums — as most big companies already do — some families will be out of luck. They may not be able to afford the full premium on their own, and they’d be locked out of the subsidies in the health care overhaul law..

So, to review and summarize, many people will remain uninsured because they won’t be able to afford health insurance.

Somebody help me out here. I thought Obamacare was going to fix this problem once and for all. Could it be that those of us who suggested that this mother of all income-redistribution schemes would only make a challenging situation worse?

Cheer Up, Leftists! Barry’s Single Payer is Only Months Away!

Last week after the conclusion of the latest Washington “crisis,” the “fiscal cliff” debacle, believe it or not, some of Barry Obama’s supporters were extremely unhappy with the amount of the tax increases in the deal. That left a lot of us scratching our heads, since the ratio of tax increases to spending cuts was 41:1. There are a couple of reasons that I shouldn’t have been confused. Like you, I know that (1) the appetite of the Left for other people’s money is insatiable and (2) they will always find something to complain about. Today I say, “cheer up, leftists Barry’s single payer plan only a few months away!”

On yesterday’s show, I referred to this story from the Liberal Death Star, but I didn’t have the chance to talk about it. “Despite New Health Law, Some See Sharp Rise in Premiums.” reads the headline. How can that be? Oh, it be. Check this out:

Health insurance companies across the country are seeking and winning double-digit increases in premiums for some customers, even though one of the biggest objectives of the Obama administration’s health care law was to stem the rapid rise in insurance costs for consumers.

Particularly vulnerable to the high rates are small businesses and people who do not have employer-provided insurance and must buy it on their own.

In California, Aetna is proposing rate increases of as much as 22 percent, Anthem Blue Cross 26 percent and Blue Shield of California 20 percent for some of those policy holders, according to the insurers’ filings with the state for 2013. These rate requests are all the more striking after a 39 percent rise sought by Anthem Blue Cross in 2010 helped give impetus to the law, known as the Affordable Care Act, which was passed the same year and will not be fully in effect until 2014.

In other states, like Florida and Ohio, insurers have been able to raise rates by at least 20 percent for some policy holders. The rate increases can amount to several hundred dollars a month.

The proposed increases compare with about 4 percent for families with employer-based policies.

Wha? Let me get out my shocked face. It turns out that there is a “loophole,” to use the term that liberals like to use to denigrate policies that they don’t like, in Obamacare. I guess when you have to pass bills without reading them to find out what’s in them, that will happen. The loophole is as follows, according the NY Times’ story: the power of state regulators differs state to state. In California, for example, the insurance regulators can review rate requests, but only for technical violations, not for the amount of the increase. Cue the sad trombone.

But, fear not. If, as you follow my sage advice, and read to the end of these Lame Stream Media stories, you’ll see that hope is making a comeback. This whole evil private health insurance scheme that we mistakenly thought served us so well for decades is destined to go the way of the quill pen, the 8-track tape and the Constitution, all outmoded, out dated, out of style and out of time. Why? Because

The practice of medical underwriting — being able to consider the health of a prospective policy holder before deciding whether to offer coverage and what rate to charge — will no longer be permitted after 2014 under the health care law.

And with the end of medical underwriting, bye bye private insurance. Hello single payer. How long will employers be able to continue to subsidize employee coverage when the premium must be sufficient to pay for the treatment of the sickest person in the pool, who by law can’t be charged any more than the healthiest one? Barack lied about it in 2009, but back in 2007, he told a friendly union audience that single-payer is what he wanted, and that’s the reason for this whole heinous scheme. All of the yip yap about “pre-existing conditions” was just that. For approximately 90% of the population with private insurance, there was never was issue of pre-existing conditions because they got their insurance through employer plans. That’s because of provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA). Specifically, as the Heritage Foundation notes here:

With respect to employer-group coverage, Congress took a reasonable and balanced approach to setting rules under HIPAA.

In particular, HIPAA rules on the application of pre-existing-condition exclusions with respect to group coverage encourage good behavior (buying health insurance before it becomes necessary) and discourage bad behavior (waiting to obtain health insurance until medical care becomes necessary). Good behavior is thus rewarded with what could be called an earned right to obtain future coverage on favorable terms. All an individual needs to do to earn such favorable treatment is to have at least one year of “creditable coverage” (defined as any public or private major-medical plan), with no gaps in coverage of more than 63 days. Furthermore, even if an individual does not have sufficient creditable coverage, employer-group coverage is still “guaranteed issue,” and any pre-existing-condition exclusion is time-limited.

This balanced approach to setting rules and incentives explains why, for the past 15 years, pre-existing-condition exclusions have not been a barrier to coverage for the vast majority of privately insured individuals who are covered by employer-group plans. It also explains why that market has been able to function with a guaranteed issue requirement, but without the need to mandate that individuals obtain coverage.

However, with respect to the individual market, Congress only applied that kind of balanced approach to those limited cases where a worker loses group coverage and obtains individual replacement coverage. It was the failure of Congress to apply a set of reasonable rules to the entire individual health insurance market that has resulted in continued inequities in that market. It also thwarts efforts to shift to a true consumer-directed health care system where individuals, not employers or the government, own their health insurance.

Specifically, under HIPAA rules a person who purchases individual market coverage, and later needs or wants to change individual coverage, can be refused the new coverage, or the new insurer can impose pre-existing-condition exclusions on the coverage or charge the individual a higher rate based on past medical history. Unlike the rules for group coverage, HIPAA does not require individual market insurers to credit applicants with prior coverage.

Thus, in the individual health insurance market, people who buy health insurance before they need it are treated the same as those who wait until they need medical care before buying insurance. Aside from being inequitable, such rules are contrary to the public policy goal of encouraging people to buy health insurance before they need to use it. This flaw in HIPAA also left an opening for supporters of more government intervention to push for a blanket prohibition on the use of pre-existing-condition exclusions, which Congress then included in the Obamacare legislation.

Rather than simply extending HIPAA’s sensible employer-group rules to individual health insurance coverage (the remaining 10 percent of the private market), in Obamacare Congress replaced HIPAA’s balanced approach with a complete ban on pre-existing-condition exclusions under any circumstances, and then attempted to limit the damage caused by that policy blunder by adding an individual mandate to buy coverage.

Did you know that? Did you know that the whole “pre-existing condition” meme, with the inevitable Lame Stream Media sob stories, featuring some poor sap tearfully describing his illness and his cruel treatment at the hands of an insurance company, was a lot of hooey? If you had employer-provided health insurance, and had been buying health insurance consistently, even if you changed jobs, you weren’t subject to any pre-existing condition denial of coverage. But, rather than simply tweak an existing law, and thereby go a long way toward addressing the ostensible problem, Barry and his merry band of Marxists imposed a horrendous, ridiculously expensive bureaucratic nightmare on this country, and thanks John Roberts, it’s here to stay. But wait, you may be saying, that change in HIPPA would only have addressed the issue of pre-existing conditions those with private insurance. In 2009, approximately 64% of the population had private insurance. Fine. What about the illegal aliens, irresponsible sperm donors who impregnate their irresponsible playmates, stinking, shopping cart pushing aggressive panhandling winos, and various other aggrieved parties who don’t have private insurance because they don’t have jobs? People like this woman, Angel “Someone’s Gotta Pay for my 15 Children” Adams. (~approximately 2:20 into the video). Now you’ve swerved into the real heart of the matter. Why is it “fair” that just because you work, you get health insurance and she and her children by God only knows who, don’t? This whole “employer provided” insurance is just a vestige of all the “Mad Men” world of racist suburbs, private automobiles, traditional “unequal” marriage, stay-at-home moms imprisoned by sexism, and all the rest of the 1950′s-style “unfair” Amerika that Barack vowed to throw on the ash heap of history when we put him in charge. Things won’t be “fair” until you and your children don’t have any better health care than Ms. Adams.

If we have to destroy this inequitable system, one that works very well for the vast majority of the people who are part of that traditional society to fix things for the Ms. Adamses of the world, so be it! Of course, Barack and Michelle, their spawn, Valerie and other members of the political royalty will have their medical needs handled outside the system that you will share with Ms. Adams.

Sort of like the difference between their vacations, and yours, if you had one.

So, once the private insurance industry is destroyed, Barack Obama will have completely remade America, and accomplished what for him are three extremely important objectives: (1) Destroying the private insurance industry (2) Continuing his never-ending project of eradicating Amerika’s “unfairness” and (3) most important of all, increasing the size of government and the power of the political class, and giving them the power of life and death over every American. Any questions?

All of these things seem so obvious to us. Why do so many of our fellow citizens not see what is right in front of their faces?

If You’re Lucky Enough to Have a Job, Try An Obama During Your Next Review

While watching this past week’s Democrat convention in Charlotte, I learned that Barack Hussein Obama (MMM…MMM…MMM) wants the upcoming election to be about “choice,” and not only the vaunted “choice” that is apparently the number one priority of all female voters, the right to exterminate her unborn child. He wants it to be a choice between two competing visions of the future, his, which is inclusive, generous and all about “values,” and the stingy, mean future promised by Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. The alternative to a “choice” election is exactly what he doesn’t want, a “referendum” election, as in an evaluation of his performance and a determination of whether he deserves to have his contract renewed. Given the objective reality reflected by the economic numbers, I think we can see why he doesn’t want us to decide based on his performance.

If it wasn’t clear already, last night’s speech was a reminder of what a miserable failure Barack Obama has been as president. Doesn’t the very fact that he didn’t mention either of his supposed “accomplishments,” his despised takeover of the health care system, or  his worthless “stimulus” slushfund payoff to public employee unions, during his acceptance speech tell us everything we need to know about whether he deserves to be re-elected?

How do you think that would work for you? When you have your annual review, and your boss asks you why you didn’t accomplish any of the objectives you mutually agree on last year, suggest that you should be evaluated not on the results you achieved, but on your “vision” for the future, when you will certainly do much much better. Give him that “past results don’t reflect future performance” language they use in those pitches for risky investments. When he reminds you that when you were hired, you pledged that if you didn’t make those goals happen, you understood that you would be let go, explain to him that the guy who had the job before you left a real mess, and things were much worse than you thought when you made that promise.

The answer is obvious. That would work out as well for you as the whole “hope and change” foolishness worked for our country. In sixty days, it will work out as well for the One as it would for you.

Barack Obama’s Sub Rosa Racist Campaign

At the 2004 Democrat Party convention, a fresh-faced, albeit slightly goofy looking, state senator from Illinois made a speech that not only inspired the first in a series of thrills up Chris Matthews’ leg, but also began the myth of Barack Obama, the product of an “improbable love” between a brilliant Kenyan grad student, and a real-life Dorothy, a lily-white girl from Kansas, whose happy little family lived blissfully in Hawaii until his father’s insatiable thirst for knowledge made Harvard irresistible. His oft-noted penchant for “soaring rhetoric” started there, as did the collective schoolgirl crush by 99 per cent of the Jurassic media, who encouraged emotionally-driven, low-information voters to believe that this man was the walking embodiment of a post-racial America. Flash forward to today when we realize that we were had by a very skillful con. There was no happy family. There may have not even been a legal marriage since Barack Sr. was already married in his native Kenya, a fact that didn’t dampen his enthusiasm for a tropical playboy lifestyle. The bastard son of a Kenyan Marxist and a beatnik misfit, who was himself steeped in radical leftist ideology then schooled in Chicago-style politics wasn’t exactly what most Americans thought they were voting for. President Obama’s reaction to racially-charged incidents like the Skip Gates arrest and the Trayvon Martin shooting reveal that far from being post-racial, the 20-year member of Rev. Jeremiah “U.S.A. of KKK” Wright’s church, is race-obsessed. Not only does he share Wright’s ideology, he no doubt he realizes that but for his bi-racial heritage, he would never have been elected to the U.S. Senate, and certainly not to the Presidency.

Like many affirmative-action beneficiaries, Barack Obama is not up to the job. As it turns out, there’s more to being president than passable TelePrompTer reading skills and well-creased pants, and as more and more voters catch on, and more panic sets in, his campaign is returning to the most reliable, and ugliest, card in the deck, the one that got him to the White House in the first place, the race card.

As the Washington Examiner reported earlier this week, “[i]n Virginia alone, 200,000 more black voters went to the polls in 2008 than turned out in 2004 for Democrat John Kerry, for a jump of nearly 44 percent that made Obama the first Democratic presidential contender to win Virginia in nearly 50 years,” and concludes “A National Urban League study released last week shows that if turnout by black voters drops back to 2004 levels this fall, Obama would lose several crucial swing states, including North Carolina, Virginia and Ohio, seriously endangering his hopes for re-election.”

Desperation ain’t pretty, a fact illustrated by the Obama’s campaign’s recent sub rosa race-baiting, which is only going to escalate as the election approaches. Consider these two stories.

On Tuesday morning, a member of Barack Obama’s “Truth Team,” and an official Obama surrogate, Virginia State Senator Louise Lucas appeared on the John Fredericks Morning Show, and made the following comments:

SENATOR LUCAS: What I am saying to you is Mitt Romney, he’s speaking to a segment of the population, who does not like to see people other than a White man in a White House or any other elected position.

Let’s be real clear about it… let’s be real clear  Mitt Romney is speaking to a group of people out there who don’t like folks like Barack Obama in any elected or leadership position. We know what’s going on here and some people may be afraid to say it but I am not. I am not afraid to say it.

He’s speaking to that fringe out there who do not want to see anybody other than a white person in a leadership position. Senator Miller said it before she died and I agreed with her. They don’t want President Barack Obama in office as President and for all the reasons that you and I and alot of other people understand.

HOST: Do you really believe now that this all about race?

LUCAS: I absolutely believe it’s all about race and for the first time I’ve convinced my children finally that racism is alive and well.

HOST: Even in Virginia?

LUCAS: In Virginia how about all across this nation. And especially in Virginia!

Fantastic work, Sen. Lucas! If there’s any better parenting strategy than convincing your children that they have no future owing to racism, I’d like to hear it!

Then there’s this story from the Politico, just breaking this morning, entitled “White House tailors minority health care pitch.”

President Barack Obama tends to skim lightly over the details of his health care law in speeches.

But his administration has a far more specific pitch to black and Hispanic audiences.

The message: Blacks and Hispanics, among whom uninsured rates are significantly higher than among whites, stand to benefit disproportionately under the health law, gaining access to free preventive care and other services that will help reduce existing health care disparities. The sustained outreach from the White House aims to make voters eligible for new benefits aware of them and how to get them.

Obama’s staff has invited groups of black journalists and publishers to the White House for health care briefings with senior officials and conducted traveling policy road shows in black and Hispanic neighborhoods across the country. On the day the Supreme Court upheld Obama’s health law, senior adviser Valerie Jarrett held an on-background conference call for black reporters.

Obama rarely emphasized specific benefits for blacks and Hispanics as he pushed his law through Congress, focusing instead on its benefits for the general populace.

Wait, I thought the “Affordable Care Act” was all about reducing health care costs and improving care for everyone. Actually, I didn’t think that. I’ve been telling you for years that this disgusting health care scheme was all about redressing the “unfairness” that results when those who work in a traditional jobs and receive private insurance as part of their compensation have better access to medical care than Medicaid recipients. It’s the key to Obama’s plot to “remake” (read “destroy”) America as we know it.

It’s not uncommon for America’s enemies to deceive us by reciting sanitized scripts for public consumption, while telling a different story behind closed doors. In fact, it’s standard operating procedure. Think of the inflammatory and vicious rhetoric spewed by Islamic fanatics in the Arabic media compared with their reasoned, moderate tone to Western audiences. And as everyone knows, there is no enemy more dangerous than the enemy within.
