As Cuts Loom and Public Shrugs, NY Times Suddenly Spins Other Way on Sequestration | NewsBusters

SL (Smart Listener) Mensa sent us these quotes from John Maynard Keynes, which I wanted to share since we were talking about all the Keynesian crap that Gene Sperling and Barack Obama are trying to sell you. Link here. Don’t be played.)

“I believe that in many cases the ideal size for the unit of control and organisation lies somewhere between the individual and the modern State. I suggest, therefore, that progress lies in the growth and the recognition of semi-autonomous bodies within the State-bodies whose criterion of action within their own field is solely the public good as they understand it, and from whose deliberations motives of private advantage are excluded…”

“For my part I think that capitalism, wisely managed, can probably be made more efficient for attaining economic ends than any alternative system yet in sight, but that in itself it is in many ways extremely objectionable. Our problem is to work out a social organisation which shall be as efficient as possible without offending our notions of a satisfactory way of life.”

Justice Scalia’s comment during last week’s oral argument over Sec. 5 of the Voting Rights Act has Left even more unhinged than usual because he accurately described “preclearance,” what was supposed to be a temporary remedy as “racial entitlement.”

Obama’s Sequester Con Blows up in His Face: Today on the Teri O’Brien Show

“Dumb, inexcusable and unnecessary.” That’s what Barack Obama called the unthinkable, the thing that he declared last fall would never happen, the so-called, “sequester,” mandatory reductions in the rate of growth for various federal agencies. Dumb, inexcusable, unnecessary, and also his idea, as it is now universally acknowledged. Here’s the reality: The One rolled the dice and he lost. He bet that the Republicans would be unwilling to allow the Defense Department, which is taking the brunt of the “cuts,” to see its budget reduced, and he was wrong. Now, he is engaging in a cringe-inducing, passive-aggressive game, one in which he says “If you don’t do what I want, and send more money to Washington for me to throw down various ratholes, I’m going to inflict as much pain as possible on the American people.” Thanks to Bob Woodward, everyone acknowledges that this horrible, unimaginably terrible reduction of 2.3% in the rate of growth in federal spending, yet he continues to refuse to own it. Is he delusional, and doesn’t he realize that the Lame Stream Media may be turning on him? This whole thing is starting to look like that Florida sinkhole, with Obama in the role of the guy who was swallowed.

This man’s unwillingness to accept responsibility for any of his actions is part of a pattern. He has spent to the last five years speechifying against “those who caused our economic problems in the first place,” by which he means the private sector in general, and those evil Wall Street profiteers specifically, several of whom became part of his administration. Our guest, Peter Wallison, Arthur F. Burns Fellow in Financial Policy Studies at AEI, general counsel of the US Treasury Department and White House counsel to President Ronald Reagan, will join us to discuss actual cause of the financial crisis of 2008. That’s the subject of his new book, Bad History, Worse Policy: How a False Narrative About the Financial Crisis Led to the Dodd-Frank Act. Surprise–the government, not the private sector, bears most of the responsibility, and “community organizers” like Barack Obama were instrumental in causing the mess in the first place. Whether it’s the sequester or the housing bubble, perhaps we should adopt the same policy that I advocated back in the day when O.J. Simpson was looking for “the real killer.” We should send the Celebutard-in-Chief a mirror.

Justice Scalia has the Left even more unhinged than usual over his comments in last Wednesdays oral arguments about Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act.

Tune in today for the rest of the story.

White House to Bob Woodward: You Will Regret Criticizing the One

I tweeted this morning about liberal media hero Bob Woodward’s appearance this morning on MS-NBC’s “Morning Joe.”

Woodward decries Obama madness on Morning Joe

Woodward decries Obama madness on Morning J

From Politico:

The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward attacked President Barack Obama on Wednesday, saying the commander-in-chief’s decision not to deploy an aircraft carrier because of budget cuts is “a kind of madness.”

“Can you imagine Ronald Reagan sitting there and saying, ‘Oh, by the way, I can’t do this because of some budget document?’” Woodward said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”“Or George W. Bush saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to invade Iraq because I can’t get the aircraft carriers I need’ or even Bill Clinton saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to attack Saddam Hussein’s intelligence headquarters,’ as he did when Clinton was president because of some budget document?” Woodward added. “Under the Constitution, the president is commander-in-chief and employs the force. And so we now have the president going out because of this piece of paper and this agreement. ‘I can’t do what I need to do to protect the country.’ That’s a kind of madness that I haven’t seen in a long time.”

The Dear Reader’s regime is not going to take this sitting down! So they threatened the legendary journo. This evening on CNN, Bob Woodward told Wolf Blitzer that the White House had threatened him. From Business Insider:

Bob Woodward said this evening on CNN that a “very senior person” at the White House warned him in an email that he would “regret doing this,” the same day he has continued to slam President Barack Obama over the looming forced cuts known as the sequester.

Did you know that you might be headed for Medicaid next year? Did you also know that patients covered by Medicaid have worse outcomes than the uninsured? Did you know that even if you retain your private insurance, the federal government will review your doctor’s decisions about your care?

On February 15, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing one of America’s leading experts on the 2nd amendment, David Kopel, and we heard Part 1 of the interview as part of this week’s 2nd Amendment Update. Part 2 will air next week.

Sunday Shows: the Regime sends buffoonish dullard/former Illinois GOP stooge Sec. of Defense Ray LaHood to CNN’s “State of the Union” and NBC’s “Meet The Press” to describe the parade of horribles that will befall us if we deprive the federal government of a single dime. Surprisingly (no, not really), hapless LaHood had no answer when Candy Crowley asked why he was warning of grounded planes and air traffic delays when (1) the FAA’s budget has increased $500 billion since 2008 and (2) the number of domestic flights is down 27% since 9/11, while the FAA budget is up 41%. Suggestion: if you want to get your congressman to wet himself, especially if he is a democrat, call and see if he can do what LaHood couldn’t or wouldn’t do; that is, answer these questions. Obama needs to stop whining about the sequester, since it was his idea, and he has spending the last week conducting a clinic on demagoguery, lying through his teeth about that fact, and the fact that any pain felt by the public will be because he is choosing it. He’s trying to tell us that he has no choice but to furlough meat inspectors and air traffic controllers because of a 2% decrease in the rate of growth rather than cutting out some bureaucratic bloat? PULEEZE!!

While both Democrats and Republicans slobber all over Hillary Clinton when she finally appears before Congress to try to explain what happened when 4 Americans were murdered in Benghazi on 9/11/12, an objective review demonstrates that the Obama foreign policy of “leading from behind” is a disaster. Ted Koppel, Bob Woodward and John McCain agree on that. Unless we’re counting frequent flyer miles, isn’t Hillary a huge failure? Except for that “beautiful voice” mentioned by Chris Matthews, of course. What about the obvious irony of Hillary Clinton, a woman who cut her political teeth by pursuing a sitting president for lying, now saying that it doesn’t matter if a president lies?

Monday’s Debate: Chickens Come Home to Roost on Obama Administration’s Libya Coverup

Barack, remember when your old pal/mentor/fellow Jew and America hater Rev. Jeremiah Wright gave that fiery sermon about “American’s chickens coming home to roost?” That was a horrible remark, bashing the United States, by suggesting that we had 9/11 coming, which is what the Rev believes. The old adage “chickens come home to roost,” while inapplicable there, is much more on point when it comes to your administration’s coverup of the Benghazi disaster. As noted here, Candy Crowley gave you a temporary reprieve during last Tuesday night’s debate by jumping in to issue her non-factual “fact check” of your very arrogant statement that you had called the Benghazi disaster an “act of terror” on the next day. (The look on your face as you glared at Mitt Romney and said “proceed” almost makes it seem that you and Candy had set this exchange up in advance.) She never asked why your U.N. ambassador appeared on 5 Sunday shows on 9/16/12 to tell us a risible explanation involving some moronic video that had debuted last June, and was seen by an audience that could fit in a phone booth. Nor did she explain why she herself, two weeks later on her “State of the Union” show on CNN, asked both John McCain and David Axelrod why your administration took so long to characterize the Libya attack as the action of terrorists, as noted here, where you can also hear the audio.

Sadly, Candy won’t be with you during Monday night’s debate, the final one between you and Mitt Romney, although I’m sure she will be cheering you on while watching at home. At that time, unfortunately, you will have some ‘splainin’ to do about the many shifting stories and inconsistencies in your Libya timeline, all of which point to one conclusion; specifically, that you and your apparatchiks are lying.

Last night you went on “The Daily Show,” and in addition to describing the murders of 4 Americans with the chillingly clinical phrase “not optimal,” you said that you were completely honest with the American public about this attack. Here’s the video.

Really? You told the American people everything we knew about this attack in real time as you found out? MMM …here’s one of those inconsistencies. From the AP this morning:

The CIA station chief in Libya reported to Washington within 24 hours of last month’s deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate that there was evidence it was carried out by militants, not a spontaneous mob upset about an American-made video ridiculing Islam’s Prophet Muhammad, U.S. officials have told The Associated Press.

“[R]eported to Washington?” As Joe Biden would no doubt say, that doesn’t mean the One. He can’t be expected to know everything that’s going on in every outpost, even one that has suffered numerous attacks in one of the most dangerous places in the world. Some might say he should spend a little less time on the golf course, hanging with Jay-Z and Beyoncè, and screeching at group’s of college-age Obamabots and more time attending security briefings, but only the most racist, bitter clinging elements out there.

Recall what we heard Bob Woodward say on last Sunday’s show. He describes a document, the original request for more security in Libya, from last March in which the administration expresses a desire “normalize” the security situation, a “bad policy” in a situation that is “inherently unstable.” He said that anyone looking at it would say that we are “screwed up.” Here’s the audio: C.Wallace-B.Woodward-2-Docs

I guess it’s appropriate that we began with Rev. Wright, since it’s the ideas that you learned from him that have led to the policies that resulted in these murders.

Monday night should be very interesting.

UPDATE from The Daily Mail:

The mother of an American diplomat killed during a terrorist raid on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi has hit out at Barack Obama for describing the attack as ‘not optimal’, saying: ‘My son is not very optimal – he is also very dead.’
