Stop the Presses: Obama’s “Home town” Chicago Very Corrupt!

I hope that you are sitting down because this one’s a shocker. From the Chicago Tribune story “Chicago area has most corruption convictions in nation, UIC study says:”

The Chicago area logged the most public corruption convictions of any federal jurisdiction in the United States during the past 36 years, according to a report released today by the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Federal prosecutors secured a total of 1,531 public corruption convictions in the Northern District of Illinois since 1976, said Dick Simpson, head of the university’s political science department.

 

What’s truly amazing about this story isn’t the fact that Chicago is, and has been for many years,  a stinking slough of corruption. What’s stunning is that a messiah, He Who Walks on Water, the One, Barack Hussein Obama, praise be his name, could emerge from the same cesspool as that evil poster boy for corruption, Rod Blagojevich. Purely coincidentally, Blago and our Dear Reader have the same political benefactor, one Tony Rezko, who is currently enjoying the hospitality of the federal government, serving a 10 1/2 year sentence for fraud, money laundering, and pay-to-play politics, or what they call in Cook County, “business as usual.”

Not only did Tony R help B. Hussein get elected to the Senate. He also helped Barack and Michelle purchase their Hyde Park mansion. When Sen. Obama was asked about Mr. Rezko, he characterized his connection to him as “boneheaded,” and claimed that this corrupt guy was “not the Tony Rezko I knew.” That answer was enough for the vigilant truth seekers in the Lame Stream Media. Nothing to see here. Move on, to coin a phrase.

Obama’s greatest feat is not his legendary ability to walk on water. It is emerging from completely dry and virginally pure from Cook County’s corrupt slime pit.

Obama presents another headline writer with a chance at unintentional comedy. (If his close friendship with convicted felon Tony Rezko, who facilitated the purchase of his Chicago mansion, his endorsement of one of the most corrupt candidates in Cook County history–let that sink in–and his broken promise to use public campaign financing in 2008, didn’t undercut his “reformer image,” what would?

Of course, as always, even when Obama seems like an unmitigated phony hypocrite, he’s actually fighting for progressive causes

And since apologies are all the rage these days, when will Obama apologize to the Supreme Court?

The Washington Examiner’s Tim Carney posted a terrific piece, unmasking Obama’s latest phony “pro-business” insourcing and consolidation sideshows. As he explains, these events are simply distractions, designed to keep us from asking where the money is coming from. Surprise: the One is using the Export-Import Bank –I hope that you’re sitting down–to buy votes with our money.

Simply getting government out of the way of manufacturing would provide more economic benefit, but less political benefit. The free market might choose less-favored companies (like those that support Republicans) or put new factories in non-swing states like South Carolina (where Obama’s NLRB forced Boeing to kowtow to his union supporters). The Obama model (regulate, tax and subsidize) allows for a more strategic — that is, more political — development of manufacturing: Put new factories in right-to-work states, helping the pro-Democratic unions; support the “green industries” that Obama constantly celebrates; reward the businesses that play ball with the administration; and subsidize new plants in the states crucial to Obama’s re-election.

Is there no end to the corruption of this bunch of Chicago hucksters?

One Step Ahead of the Subpoena, Obama Administration Orders Review of Solyndra Loan

I am not making this up. From this morning’s Washington Post:

The White House has authorized an independent review of all loan guarantees made by the Energy Department to foster green technology amid fallout from the bankruptcy this year of Solyndra, the California company that received a $535 million loan through the program.

White House officials said Friday that Chief of Staff William M. Daley ordered the review, which will evaluate the entire $35.9 billion loan portfolio made to support the private-sector development of new technologies that could help improve the economy and create jobs.

I would love to have been a fly on the wall when Bill Daley and the One were discussing this “independent review,” wouldn’t you?  I’m sure Billy mentioned to Barry that yesterday the House Energy and Commerce Committee announced that next week it will consider issuing a subpoena for items related to Solyndra. Chicago on the Potomac in action!

And the hits just keep coming. Also from this morning’s WaPo:

An investment firm whose vice chairman has been an adviser and fundraiser for President Obama saw one of its portfolio companies win approval this year for $50 million in loans from the administration’s clean-energy loan program.

Washington-based Perseus says its affiliation with James A. Johnson, a major fundraiser for Obama’s campaign, played no role in persuading the Energy Department to award the loan to Vehicle Production Group, a Miami start-up that is manufacturing wheelchair-accessible cars and taxis.

Johnson headed Obama’s vice presidential selection committee in 2008 and is the former chairman of housing mortgage giant Fannie Mae. He was listed as a campaign fundraising bundler for Obama in the 2008 race, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, and committed to raising $200,000 to $500,000 for the upcoming presidential race.

Johnson could not be reached for comment Thursday. Perseus Chairman Frank Pearl said in an interview that it is an “absurd idea” to think that Johnson’s political connections helped the Miami company.

And one more thing, Bitter Clinger. There are no lobbyists involved in the Sham WOW (Walks on Water) re-election campaign. I don’t care what the Liberal Death Star says.

A Case Study in Obama’s Chicago Way

Kenneth E. Pannaralla — once a top precinct captain for Illinois House Speaker Michael J. Madigan — has made a good living in government.

Pannaralla, 63, gets a pension from the city of Chicago in addition to the three paychecks from his three current government jobs, including one as the executive director of the Southwest Home Equity Assurance Program, a government agency created under a law Madigan co-sponsored.

Madigan, who is also chairman of the Illinois Democratic Party, also gave Pannaralla’s daughter, Jennifer Pannaralla, a one-year legislative scholarship in 2003 to the University of Illinois at Chicago. And Pannaralla’s son, Kenneth, is paid $24,000 a year as an aide to Madigan.

Pannaralla makes a total of $213,418 a year …

Tim Novak and Chris Fusco go on to describe the many government teats from which this Madigan foot soldier happily suckles.

This story illustrates the Obama pyramid that is the overall goal of the One, who somehow in the view of some emerged dry and sweet-smelling, despite his origins in the stinking slough of corruption, crony capitalism and fraud that is Cook County, Illinois. The ideal America envisioned by those running Chicago on the Potomac is Cook County writ large, with the political royalty like Barack, Michelle and friends living large on the taxpayers’ dime with their date nights, luxury vacations and celebrity soirées at the very top, in the center, those like Mr. Pannaralla, members of public employee unions, and identity politics mascot groups, all of whom benefit from the favors doled out in exchange for their loyalty to the sleazy regime, and at the bottom (you guessed it), the rest of us, whose job it is to silently submit and pay.

Question for those stinking Occupy Wall Street morons. My unwashed, bongo-drumming, incoherent friends, please put down your filthy hemp blankets and answer it, please: who is more greedy, a guy like Mr. Pannaralla, who uses his connections to corrupt politicians to personally enrich himself at the expense of the taxpayers, or those evil people, so often demonized by hypocritical anal sphincters like Barack Obama, who work in the private sector, on Wall Street or elsewhere, and earn over $200,000 a year?
