I Love a Real Man with a Gun

Today a friend commenting on the Sandy Hill Elementary School murders mentioned something, an interesting fact, one that I hadn’t heard anyone else mention; specifically, the fact that when this wack job showed up intent on mowing people down, he was confronted by a bunch of girls. As I reflect on it, that’s no surprise. The disturbing feminization of men over the last thirty years has been part of the Left’s overall project of destroying the traditional family, and the public schools are Ground Zero. While supposedly concerned “educators” fret over little girls’ obsession with their body images and insist that they be encouraged to speak up, participate in sports and proclaim their ability to do everything and anything, little boys’ natural impulses are dismissed, denigrated, demonized and ultimately drugged out of them. Who needs male role models to teach boys to be the evil, knuckle-dragging, brutes?

Still, despite the Left’s relentless efforts, there are still some real men out there. I know it’s true. I am married to one. Here’s a story about another one, from The Arizona Daily Sun:

Flagstaff resident Dave Young said he was driving up to the Arizona Central Credit Union branch on North West Street shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday when he was puzzled by the sight of his friend, Michael Pileggi, detaining a woman.

He quickly noticed his friend’s son, Chase Pileggi, was also trying to stop a man as he jumped over a fence. Young said he quickly confirmed that a bank robbery had occurred and took off after the two in his vehicle.

Young caught up with the pair nearby and watched as Chase tackled the man. The younger Pileggi got the man in a hold and Young placed his hand on his sidearm, showing the suspect that he was armed. He did not pull his gun.

“I provided cover for him. If the suspect had tried to pull a weapon I could have stopped him,” Young said. “I told him don’t move. I looked him over for weapons and visually inspected the suspect, then called 911.”

He also said carrying a firearm is the responsibility of able-bodied, law-abiding men.

“I think it’s important if you’re a male with a clean record to protect your community,” Young added. “You should be ready to do something like this if possible.”

Not surprisingly, he’s not joining the politically-motivated bleating for more gun control.

Young disagrees with those now arguing for stricter regulation of firearms.

“Would you feel better if you were shot with a 10-round magazine instead of 30?” he said. “If criminals are going to have them, responsible citizens should be able to have them.”

I’d trade every panty-wearing, metrosexual, East Coast elitist Ken doll pontificating on television for another Mr. Young. We could use a million more guys like him.

When it Comes to Women’s Rights, the Guy Barack Obama Supports Makes Todd Akin Look Like a Feminist

Do Sandra Fluke and Lena Dunham know about this?

As we discussed on yesterday’s show with our guest Daniel Greenfield of Sultan Knish, if you’re paying attention, you’ll notice a disturbing pattern in the way that the Obama administration deals with the turmoil in the Middle East. Bottom Line: The One sides with the Islamists. Consider Libya and Egypt. In both countries, the Obama administration kicked allies to the curb to help install Islamist regimes. Iran in June, 2009 was another story. In that case, Barack Obama didn’t want “to be seen as meddling” in another country’s affairs.

It’s indisputable that Obama is on the side of the Islamists. If his foreign policy decisions were not evidence enough, he wrote in his silly, boring, navel-gazing book, The Audacity of Hope, “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” I guess that the bright side is that, for once, he’s keeping a promise.

I picture B. Hussein watching Egyptian President, the Muslim Brotherhood’s own, Mohamed Morsi, deciding that he can dispense with the other two branches of government because he is effectively God, and thinking “That’s what I’m talking about!”

So, it’s no surprise that Barack is a Morsi fan, but I wonder if some of Barry’s biggest boosters, Lena Dunham and Sandra Fluke, and others of their ilk, know that their guy is supporting a regime that finds it intolerable to include a provision in its new constitution that prohibits child marriage and sex slavery. That’s Egypt today. From the British site, Inter Press Service:

An ultraconservative Salafi cleric recently sparked outrage among Egypt’s liberal circles when he attempted to justify his opposition to a proposed constitutional article that would outlaw the trafficking of women for sex.

Speaking on privately-owned Al-Nas satellite channel, Sheikh Mohamed Saad El-Azhary said he feared the proposed article could conflict with the local practice of child marriage. He explained that in Egypt, particularly in rural areas, there is a culture of marrying off girls as soon as they hit puberty.

“The important thing is that the girl is ready and can tolerate marriage,” El-Azhary declared.

He goes on to warn of just how far it could go if this radical, anti-child marriage provision is allowed to go forward.

He went on to protest proposed laws protecting women from violence, warning that if allowed to pass husbands could be prosecuted for beating their child brides or forcing themselves upon them.

“If you have intercourse with your wife against her will, she will be able to file a complaint against you,” he said. “That’s where things are headed.”

What’s next? Women driving? Leaving the house without the permission of a male relative? By the way, this guy is part of the group writing the new Egyptian constitution.

One of the great things about being a liberal is the ability to operate with a high degree of self-righteousness, free of any concern that the positions that you passionately defend are irreconcilably conflicting. You can be a feminist who wants freedom and choice for women, who should be seen as strong and independent, except that they expect someone else to pay for their contraceptives, and you can support a guy for president who endorses an Egyptian regime that doesn’t consider it a “legitimate rape” when a man forces himself on his wife.

No wonder liberalism is so popular among the intellectually lazy and/or challenged.

Don’t You Hate It When Liberal Agendas Collide, and Other Random Thoughts

Is it just me …

,or does anyone else find it ridiculous to see Chris Matthews standing in front of Mt. Rushmore praising the freedom that the Founders fought for, when he has a man crush on a guy whose lifelong dream was giving the federal government the power and life and death over every single American? Oh, you haven’t seen that? Of course you haven’t. I forgot. I watch so you don’t have to. Trust me. The 24/7 nuthouse is running this promo for the Screamer during its regular programming. Chris, let me clue you in. Watching the Oval Office occupied by this Marxist bunch has the Founders spinning in their graves so fast that we could slice meat on their corpses!

,or do you also just hate it when liberal agendas collide?  Here’s the latest. Day care makes kids fat. So, Moochelle Obama’s crusade against childhood obesity has run smack into the career aspirations that she and her feminist allies say all women should desire. What’s a modern woman to do? Put on the power suit, grab the briefcase, drop off the kid at day care, only to discover she’s raising a future Michael Moore? Talk about a war on women!

,or did you also ever think that there would never be a governor that would be so buffoonish that he would make California’s Gov. Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown look like sane? Illinois governor Pat Quinn has done it. I’ve always told you that liberals are like children, with the luxury in indulging their silly, unrealistic beliefs and their predictable tantrums over the “unfairness” of life. Now, Gov. Pruneface has produced a ridiculous video to “educate” the public, featuring some typical, jowly, political foot soldier, narrating this unintentionally hilarious and amateurish production. (Scroll down to see it.). There’s only one question about this video. It’s not “why are the democrats being so dishonest about how we got into this mess?” or “Couldn’t they find anyone to star in this ridiculous waste of time who has a face that you could look at without shuddering?” No, there are actually two questions; specifically, (1) “how many thousands of taxpayer dollars did the Gov’s office spend on this mess?” and (2) “which politician’s relative produced it?”

Women Expect Too Much and Settle for Too Little: Today on the Teri O’Brien Show

With Valentine’s Day approaching, it’s a good time to ask the question: Is romance dead? The recent controversy over federally-mandated “free” contraception, deemed “essential preventative care” by the Obama regime, raises a more subtle question. Is the notion of “courtship,” now as quaint as the parasol, replaced by hookup, and if so, who benefits? The late 1960‘s saw the rise of so-called women’s movement, but has it really benefitted women? Are we better off now that “liberation” means that we’re supposed to not only pick up the check, but also hit the sheets with as many men as possible, get rid of any inconvenient tissue mass byproducts of our sexual conquests, and move on to the next one? Of course not, and while it might seem like our culture’s sexual candy store might be a dream come true for men, as they mature, aren’t they also looking for something deeper and more meaningful?

Our special guest, nationally-syndicated columnist and author of the best-selling book, It Takes a Parent, Betsy Hart, will join us to talk about looking for love in all the right places. Her new book “From The Hart: A Collection of Favorite Columns on Love, Loss, Marriage (and Other Extreme Sports)” is a refreshingly honest, intelligent, and sometimes politically incorrect, exploration of modern relationships. Betsy will explain the real reason that women seem to have such a tough time finding Mr. Right, often ignoring many good guys in the process. She’s also agreed to take your questions about love and romance. I’ll ask her about a recent CPAC attendee’s idea of the perfect conservative date.

The Obama administration has decided that the issue of federal government coercion, laid bare by their insistence that birth control, including abortifacients, are a “right,” is behind them, but not so fast, my dictatorial friends. Nothing is over until we say it is.

Join us Sunday for the rest of the story.
