If they can afford cellphones, why are you subsidizing their health insurance premiums? : Today The Teri O’Brien Show 10-27-13

Reverend Wright warned Barack Obama about chickens coming home to roost. Now that the endless litany of lies that he told while conning gullible people about his health care scheme are on prominent display, even Democrats are scrambling to distance themselves from this rolling disaster. You can keep your doctor? You can keep your plan? Signing up will be as easy as buying a book from amazon.com? Not so much. The only defense for these whoppers is that any fool could plainly see that they were untrue the minute Obama told them. “You believed that stuff? Seriously?”

Even the application of the universal cure for every ailment, an Obama TelePrompTer reading, hasn’t quelled the outcry. During last Monday’s Rose Garden appearance, the One spoke about “marketplaces” where people can purchase health insurance for a monthly premium less than the cost of their cellphone or cable bills. He called that a “good deal.” There are no marketplaces, just a top-down bureaucratic hell, and the only people getting a good deal are the takers, the beneficiaries of Barack’s stash. The rest of you are seeing premiums spike, which we’re told by administration mouthpieces is a good thing, because insurance companies must now provide Obamacare’s “essential benefits,” including maternity coverage. That’s got to be a great relief to everyone over 55, especially the men.

Now that King Barack Obama has once again exercised his imperial power to delay the Obamacare individual mandate for 6 weeks, can someone tell me why he and Sen. Harry Reid shut down the government? When will they apologize to Sen. Ted Cruz? One of our guests today, Humberto Fontova, author of several terrific books, including his latest, The Longest Romance: The Mainstream Media and Fidel Castro has written an interesting piece, “Ted Cruz v. The Republican Establishment,” in which he contrasts Sen. Cruz’ recent actions with those of former Bush administration official John Sununu. Is he really enabling Fidel Castro’s sale of medical quackery by serving as a lobbyist for the brutal dictator?

We’ll also welcome Kathy Shaidle, courageous blogging pioneer, to dish about some of her recent writing about Michael Moore, Dr. Phil, and dinosaur porn. No wonder she’s one of Mark Steyn’s favorites!

Be ahead of the curve. Tune in today 4-6 pm Central, for the rest of the story.

Over-Rated White People, Feminists’ War on Men, and Media Malpractice-Today on The Teri O’Brien Show

In some ways being well-informed in the Age of Obama can be a frustrating curse. The afflicted watch millions of their fellow citizens unable to connect some very obvious dots, a fact that allows the current occupant of the Oval Office to comfortably coast along, blissfully unaccountable for the consequences of his leftwing ideology and the policies that result from it. We are still scratching our heads over Barack Obama’s re-election. How in the world did that happen? At least three reasons spring to mind, and we’ll talk about them today.

On today’s show, we’ll explore that question, and do more of that dot connecting with our guests, David Freddoso and Suzanne Venker.

David is Editorial Page Editor of the Washington Examiner, and he has appeared on the show before to talk about his previous books, The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media’s Favorite Candidate and Gangster Government: Barack Obama and the New Washington Thugocracy. His latest book, Spin Masters: How the Media Ignored the Real News and Helped Reelect Barack Obama, is loaded with stories that the Lame Stream Media didn’t find worth covering during 2012, when important stories like Big Bird allegedly in peril, Mitt Romney’s dog during a family vacation in the early 1980’s and supposed racist “dog whistles” took precedence over the worst economy since the 1970’s and lies about the murder of four Americans in Libya.

The Left has been on a decades-long campaign to destroy institutions that stand in the way of their plans to enslave everyone to an almighty State. Number one on their hit list is the traditional family, and at least two generations of women have been brainwashed into helping them achieve their goal by convincing them that marriage is a state of slavery. Instead, the feminists, and the popular culture, say young women should eschew marriage, focus on their careers, and strive to hit the sheets with as many men as possible, confident that they will be guaranteed the “right” to eliminate any inconvenient tissue masses that might result. Can you say “Sandra Fluke?” Suzanne Venker’s essential book, How to Choose a Husband, powerfully refutes the anti-marriage drumbeat of the popular culture.

A Columbia University professor of victimology, who penned a piece about “overrated white people” describes a murdering ex-cop’s killing spree as “exciting,” and points to his brilliant writing as worth examining. Why does Fox News’ Channel’s Bill O’Reilly continue to help this Marxist supporter of cop killers have any credibility by putting him on the air?

Tune in today for the rest of the story.

Axelrod Endorses Romney: Show Notes, the Teri O’Brien Show, 4/15/12

Miss this episode? No worries. You can listen to the last 5 episodes right here. The player is on the side bar in the right.

Angela Corey, the Special Prosecutor in the Trayvon Martin case, behaves like Patrick Fitzgerald Jr. Was it really appropriate for her to “pray” with the Martin family on the day she was appointed? Wouldn’t that influence her supposed objective evaluation of the case? And you just know Al Sharpton was there.

Testy exchange between Chris Wallace and David Axelrod, during which the Walrus inadvertently agrees that we don’t want to continue down the road we’re on. In other words, he supports Mitt Romney. Seriously, I think Axelrod, after years of mucking around in the sleaze of Chicago politics, may be losing it.

Speaking of testy, a local reporter in St. Louis questions our Narcissist-in-Chief manchild current occupant of the Oval Office about the endless vacations he and Michelle Antoinette enjoy, and he does not like it. What’s wrong with this guy? Doesn’t he understand that reparations have to start somewhere?

“Comedian” Bill Maher disses Ann Romney.

On ABC’s “This Week,” Timmah Geithner, who may or may not have mastered Turbo Tax, responds “can’t tell ya” when asks whether we’re seeing a pattern of some initial good news followed by a stall. That’s encouraging! Enjoy the sound bite in which GS tells the Treasury Secretary that both liberal and conservative economists agree: the economy sucks, and it’s probably because of the bad decisions the One has made.

SL Rob will be attending the Chicago Tea Party rally tomorrow. He’d love to see you there.

The Critiquelator on the Secret Service Hooker scandal. This one caused many rim shots to erupt.

On April 6, at his Summit on Women and Girls, Barack Obama told us that Michelle didn’t have “the luxury” of not working outside the home. Leaving aside the fact that at the time the Obama daughters were young, Barry was making over 6 figures, the whole story is a lie. Michelle ENJOYED working. She said: “The days I stay home with my kids without going out, I start to get ill,” she says. “My head starts to ache.” Like everything else about these two phonies, this story is falling apart.

Like Spielberg, Jimmuh Carter and Other Luminaries, Ozzie Loves Castro

As White Sox fans will attest, Ozzie Guillen is well-known for his colorful, and often unfortunate, remarks. Now he has been suspended for five days for comments he made to Time Magazine, praising one of the biggest anal sphincters of the last 100 years, Fidel Castro. I know what you’re thinking. What would possess anyone to do anything so stupid? And by “stupid,” of course I mean talk to Time magazine. Big mistake. Equally stupid, the new manager of the Miami Marlins compounded the mistake by not only saying nice things about a guy who is a murderous, brutal dictator, but who is THE murderous, brutal dictator who inflicted horrific misery on many of the same people that the Marlins are hoping to call “customers.” Talk about bad for business. What’s next? Is he going to go to a NOW meeting and praise Rush Limbaugh?

One brief aside: This controversy has nothing to do with freedom of speech. Let’s not have that tired discussion again. It is so 2003 Dixie Chicks. Ozzie is free to say whatever he wants. So are you. If your boss doesn’t like it, though, he has the freedom to fire you. Just ask John Derbyshire, formerly a columnist for National Review. This column got him fired from that gig.

But back to the original question: why would Ozzie say something so ill-advised? Is he stupid? Brain-damaged like Keith Olbermann? Or perhaps, watching some highly-respected and admired figures in society, he decided that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with celebrating Castro. That was the point my friend and Teri O’Brien Show guest, the amazing Humberto Fontova, author of Exposing the Real Ché Guevara and the Useful Idiots Who Idolize Him made in a blog post today. When I hear anyone compliment Castro, I think of Humberto and his family. Humberto was born in Havana, and fled Cuba with his mother and two siblings in 1961. During the escape, his father was captured by Castro’s thugs as the family tried to flee, and imprisoned in La Cabana, a notorious firing squad waiting room where 2100 men and boys were murdered. Eventually he was released, and joined his family in New Orleans.

Humberto posted about the Ozzie controversy on the blog, Babalú, citing two towering intellects, frequently lionized by the American Left, democrats Jimmy Carter and George McGovern, and their love for the dreamy despot :

Hialeah residents skew 57.810% Democratic. Two of the most respected figures in their political party are on record for REPEATED and apparently SINCERE references to Fidel Castro no worse than Ozzie Guillen’s off-the-cuff quip.

Neither the “Elder Statesman” nor the “Conscience” of the Political party to which the overwhelming majority of Hialeah residents owe their allegiance has apologized for comments made–NOT ex-officio (which would be excusable in the name of official diplomacy)–but as private citizens.

Of course, he is absolutely right. Where’s the outrage from Hialeah democrats? Neither the King of the Useful Idiots (Jimmuh) or George “Crawl on My Knees to Hanoi” McGovern has ever apologized for expressing admiration for Fidel. Neither have Steven Spielberg, Dan Rather, Diane Sawyer, Chevy Chase, Jesse Jackson or Oliver Stone. Their disgusting gushing about this evil carbuncle on humanity are chronicled in one of Humberto’s other books, Fidel Castro: Hollywood’s Favorite Tyrant

I hope that you have learned your lesson, Ozzie. Cuba is a slave island. Unless and until they send you there, it will never be the Land of Oz. You are not a democrat politician, Lame Stream Media newsreader, or a Hollywood limousine liberal. You are a baseball manager. Fill out your lineups, coddle the prima donna egos, do a local Saturday morning tv show about how the season is going. Even make hilarious off the cuff remarks, such as when you referred to yourself as Charlie Sheen without the drugs and hookers. Whatever. Just stay out of politics. If you want to praise murderers, stick to references to Murderer’s Row.
