Today the Obama regime declared that they have met their goal of fixing their “troubled” Obamacare website, so bedeviled by “glitches,” by which they mean, according to The Washington Post, that
“While we strive to innovate and improve our outreach and systems for reaching consumers, we believe we have met the goal of having a system that will work smoothly for the vast majority of users.”
This morning they released an 8-page report saying that they had fixed 400 bugs, resulting in a vastly-improved user experience.
“The bottom line, HealthCare.gov on Dec. 1 is night and day from where it was on Oct. 1,” when the site was launched, he told reporters.
As a result of the improvements: the average system response time is under 1 second; the error rate is “consistently well below 1 percent”; the online system is stable — not crashing — more than 90 percent of the time; as many as 50,000 shoppers can use the site at the same time, or up to 800,000 visits a day.
At the same time, the report cautioned that more work needs to be done in the weeks and months ahead “to improve and enhance the website and continue to improve the consumer experience.” Officials have also said repeatedly that consumers might still encounter difficulties and urged them to use the call center and seek help from specially trained personnel.
In a related story, Jeff Bezos of amazon.com (where you can, and should get the terrific e-book, The ABC’s of Barack Obama: Understanding God’s Greatest Gift to America) proudly proclaimed that during this Christmas shopping season, his company was able to ensure that 90% of orders were timely and accurate, unless too many people tried to use, prompting him to recommend that people delay their shopping to after January 2, when things should go a lot more smoothly!
Surprisingly, questions about Obamacare remain; specifically, (1) the issue of protecting the privacy of very personal information, which has been completely unaddressed, (2) the fact that many insurance companies are reporting a very high rate of errors on the “back end,” as in, by the time the Nigerian identity thieves are done sifting through that very personal information and it makes its way to the company that is supposed to provide your insurance policy, it is often inaccurate, duplicative, or garbled, making it impossible for them to write the coverage, and (3) the networks of physicians and hospitals available to those lucky enough to get insurance from these exchanges is minuscule compared to the ones they had before they got their “transition letters,” unless of course, they are even luckier, and are forced onto Medicaid, in which case they won’t be able to see a doctor at all, but, in fairness, there is a little-known provision of Obamacare that may, under certain limited circumstances, allow you Skype with a vet tech on alternate Tuesdays.
What happens if more than 50,000 people try to “shop” (another Orwellian use of a word, usually reserved for voluntary transactions between a willing buyer and a willing seller) on the Obamacare site? What happens if people think they have been purchased coverage on this ridiculous fiasco of a website, only to learn after January 1 that they are not covered? What happens when people discover that they are going to face jaw-dropping increases in premiums and deductibles? What happens when people learn that they cannot in fact continue to see the doctors they have trusted for decades?
Move along. Nothing to see here, except maybe the $1m+ dollars the Obama administration gave to a left-wing “non partisan” group for a propaganda campaign. Apparently, the incessant hectoring from Moochelle Antoinette and Organizing for Action, encouraging you to start fights on Thanksgiving about Obamacare wasn’t enough. We are starting to get some video about those conversations. Suffice it so say, it didn’t go as OFA hoped.
Meanwhile, all of the (Un)Affordable Care Act mandates have been delayed, except, of course, the individual mandate. You have until December 23 to get the health insurance that your benevolent federal government is requiring you to buy, so get busy!
We’ll also have a 2nd amendment update, featuring Nanny Bloomberg, and address a genuine irony: so-called same sex marriage, which was only possible after the institution of marriage had been destroyed by the 1960’s “sexual revolution,” may actually result in a return to the days when divorce was legally prohibited.
Speaking of marriage, life lessons from Barack and Michelle, including about how to have a good marriage.
