Our Caring Dear Leader Shows His Enormous Caring Again

First published at Clash Daily

Barack Hussein Obama, caring

If there’s one thing we know about Obama, it’s that he cares.

If there’s one thing we know about our Dear Reader, Barack Hussein Obama (Praise be his name), it’s that he cares about people, especially the little people, that 47% that that rich, selfish Mitt Romney dissed during that infamous appearance in front of a group of equally selfish, greedy, uncaring rich people. Everybody knows that if caring about the “middle class” were people, Barack Obama would be China. If caring were measured in grains of sand, Barack Obama’s caring would be more than all the grains of sand on all the beaches of a thousand planet Earths. Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) can cry all he wants. He could even persuade the Oprah to interview him, and he could cry on live TV during the interview in which he declares that, like Sen. Mark Kirk, he now understands that all that matters is “who you love and who loves you back.” Still, even after that, soccer mommies, American Idol groupies and all other similarly situated low-information observers would know that Barack cares more about them than Speaker Boehner does or anyone else ever has or ever will.

How else to explain his latest incredibly caring and magnanimous evidence of his tremendous caring, offering to give back 5% of the salary that we subjects pay him to rule us? It’s hard to believe, but this preternatural creature earns only $400,000 a year for the tremendously difficult work that he does just for us. It would be a bargain at twice that annual price to be led by one so brilliant, so wise, and, yes, so caring, and yet he’s going to give back!  Isn’t that what life is all about? What more can this man do for us? Once again, he is leading by example, Peasant.

Some naysaying bitter clingers, cynical as ever, have tried to sully Barack’s beautiful, selfless act by bringing up the following facts, which they foolishly believe will tarnish the public’s opinion of our beloved Dear Leader (Reader):

  • By giving back 5%, Barack Obama will be returning $20,000 to the Federal Treasury, or less than he spent flying Air Force One out to California for his most recent fundraiser. This amount won’t have any effect on his lifestyle because he lives in government housing, and he doesn’t pay for the gas in caravan of SUV’s that transport him and his family. Plus, he’s really rich. Sure, all that’s true, but he still cares about you, Peasant. Just because his lifestyle is not affected one iota by what you call a “symbolic and meaningless gimmick,” unlike this guy, Jeff Maryak, who has suffered a 27% pay cut as a result of the sequester, that doesn’t change how much it shows that he cares. Mr. Maryak, a Bronze Star winner has resorted to delivering pizzas at night after doing his 9-5, and he still can’t make ends meet, so he is seeking a military redeployment. I have no doubt, though, that Mr. Maryak felt so much better today when he learned of President Obama’s magnificent gesture.
  • Some point out that perhaps President Obama was not motivated to give back 5% of his pay by his love and caring for his people, but rather because of the drop in his approval rating, which may have resulted from the suspension of White House tours, something the little people and their children look forward to during their Spring Break vacations. When juxtaposed with the Obama family’s perpetual vacations, including the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous style “sun and ski” combo recently enjoyed by the Obama daughters, some suggest that he needed to do something to remind the downtrodden how much he cares about them, more than he cares about anything else on this earth. Now he has. I hope that everyone is satisfied and can now move on. Oh yes, some people like those whiners over at Judicial Watch, who are going to insist on finding out how much the Obama princesses recent trip cost taxpayers, won’t, but the rest of us should feel our hearts swell just thinking about how much our wise ruler cares.
  • Finally, some have actually pointed out that Barack Obama did this to be “in solidarity” with “government workers,” and have suggested that this language sounds like something out of the old Soviet Union’s lexicon. They also note that, while he never fails to show concern for government employees who lose their jobs, always citing the horror of even one public school teacher being laid off, for example, he seems completely unconcerned about the jaw-dropping increase in the number of people in private sector who have become so discouraged in the Obama economy that they have completely stopped looking for work. These people have completely checked out, and like ghost workers they haunt our economy. The labor participation rate in 2008 was over 66 million, and it has dropped every year of Barack Obama’s presidency. Now it stands at 63.5 percent. It’s wrong to criticize Barack Obama for not mentioning people displaced from the private sector. He cares about these lost workers, too. We know he does because that’s one thing everybody knows about Barack Obama. That he cares. More than anyone.

In a Jail Cell in Nevada, O.J. is Planning His Appearance with the Oprah

During the interlude when O.J. Simpson, having gotten away with murder, was at large before committing another felony, a friend and I used to speculate that he could rehabilitate himself with one simple action; specifically, entering the Oprah’s confessional, shedding a few tears, and unburdening himself. Sadly for the former football superstar, he didn’t do it, and now he’s cooling his heels in a Nevada jail cell.

Now, here comes Lance Armstrong, who, having lied repeatedly to millions for years about his use of illegal performance enhancing drugs, chose that route. Will it work? Is redemption available for someone who has hurt and disappointed so many people?

It depends what we mean by redemption. Certainly, he needs cash, and his inevitable tell-all book will probably sell. If, however, by redemption we mean forgiveness and the chance to regain the admiration and respect of the public, I think that ship has sailed.  People are thoroughly disgusted with his incessant lying, but that’s nothing compared to the revulsion that they will feel toward him once he starts ratting out other people, which apparently he is prepared to do.

The Oprah notwithstanding, he is still in a lot of legal trouble. From CBS News:

Senior Justice Department officials have recommended that the government join a lawsuit filed by one of Armstrong’s former teammates that accuses the disgraced cyclist of defrauding the federal government. Armstrong’s U.S. Postal sponsorship prohibited illegal doping.

All things considered, O. J. probably has a better chance of being forgiven. He is black, after all, and he didn’t use a gun to kill his ex-wife and her friend.

The Man Who Exposed Elizabeth Warren’s Phony Native American Claim: Today on the Teri O’Brien Show, 5/13/12

Last week’s news cycle shined an enormous spotlight on the ridiculous, irrelevant charade that passes as serious journalism in the dinosaur media today. Whether it’s the incessant celebration of Barack Obama’s “historic” “evolution” on the issue of so-called same-sex marriage, in which he returned to the position he had in 1996, coincidentally before arriving with an open purse at George Clooney’s house, or the laughably transparent collusion between the Obama campaign and the Washington Post in breaking the blockbuster news about Mitt Romney’s high school behavior, the evidence is in. Serious people who hope to be well-informed should not waste their time, and risk the potential loss of IQ points involved, by exposing themselves to the kabuki-like foolishness and outright propaganda broadcast on traditional media outlets. The faux news of the week also reminded us that while Barack Obama may be “historic,” he is also a bully and con artist.

While pumping out pro-Obama propaganda, our Lame Stream Media friends have been remarkably silent regarding the campaign antics of liberal darling and current Massachusetts’ democrat Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren. Did Prof. Warren game the affirmative-action system for two decades by claiming to be a “Native American?” Our special guest, Michael Patrick Leahy, one of the founders of the Tea Party, author of Covenant of Liberty: the Ideological Foundations of the Tea Party Movement, and unfortunately for Prof. Warren, amateur genealogist, is the man who exposed the fraud.

Barack’s Mission to Promote Himself …One Lie at a Time

Last month, former Illinois teacher Deborah Netter filed a lawsuit against a best-selling author. The Associated Press reports:

“According to the lawsuit, Netter wants compensation “for herself and all other individuals or entities, who purchased [name of book] and did not get what they paid for, but instead, were wrongly induced by each of the defendants to buy a phony and fictional story as opposed to the truth.”

If you guessed that the book in question is Barack Obama’s allegedly brilliant memoir, Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance, nice try. The defendant in the above-referenced case is actually Greg Mortenson, author of the feel-good favorite of soccer mommy book clubs everywhere, Three Cups of Tea: One Man’s Mission to Promote Peace . . . One School at a Time. If you are unfamiliar with the book, it tells the dramatic story of an injured Mortenson’s stumbling into the impoverished Afghan village Korphe after a failed attempt to climb the world’s second-tallest mountain, K2. There, he is nursed back to health by the kind villagers and decides to give something back by building a school in Korphe. He eventually expands his humanitarian vision, founds the Central Asia Institute to fulfill his new-found life’s purpose: building schools, especially for girls, in war-ravaged Afghanistan and Pakistan. He goes on write a second best-seller with the touchy-feely title, Stones into Schools: Promoting Peace with Books, Not Bombs, in Afghanistan and Pakistan, a follow-up to Three Cups, in which he describes the many difficulties of pursuing his dream in the face of militant opposition, which included a 1996 incident in which he was kidnapped by the Taliban!

One need only hear Mr. Mortenson describe the dispute he had with his publisher over the subtitle of Three Cups of Tea to understand why his yarn had such great appeal for his target audience, one that he shares with the Oprah. As the Christian Science Monitor reports:

“He wanted its subtitle to read “One Man’s Mission to Promote Peace … One School at a Time.”

What his publishers preferred, however, was, “One Man’s Mission to Fight Terrorism and Build Nations … One School at a Time.”

To Mortenson, there was a significant difference between the two. “If we fight terrorism,” he says, “that’s based in hate. But if we can promote peace, that’s based in hope.”

Oh I may hurl! This sappy story is part of his standard spiel. Can’t you just picture the swooning of the audiences of emotionally-driven, albeit well-intentioned, ninnies when Mr. Mortenson delivers that line? No doubt they can barely contain their delight as they walk out to the parking lot to their minivans and Priuses with their “Co-Exist” and “It will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the Air Force has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber” bumper stickers, gushing about this wonderful man and his amazing altruistic adventures.

For this bunch, this boffo story has everything, not only the pursuit of gender equality through vaunted female education, and the naive belief that “outreach,” education and eradication of poverty can transform jihadist fanatics into gentle, peace-loving mountain dwellers, both of which have great appeal to the gullible, the soft-hearted and the equally soft-headed. A less obvious, but just as vital component of its allure, is the warm glow of smug self-satisfaction it no doubt gives readers, who consider themselves enlightened and cosmopolitan, unlike those knuckle-dragging, uneducated, mouth breathers in Flyover Country and the stupid cowboy that they “selected” as president in 2000. It couldn’t miss, and it didn’t. Three Cups of Tea was a tremendous success. It has sold over 3 million copies since its 2006 release.

Unfortunately, Mr. Mortenson’s inspirational fable started to unravel last April, when “60 Minutes” reported on allegations that he may have a bit of a Casey Anthony problem; specifically, that he was never kidnapped by the Taliban, that he lied about how he got started building schools because he did not stagger into Korphe disoriented and injured after his attempt on K2, and that he used donated funds “as his own personal ATM,” to fund travel on private jets and to otherwise enrich himself. One of his most vocal critics was a former supporter and fellow best-selling author, Jon Krakauer, of Into Thin Air fame, who penned his own exposè, Three Cups of Deceit.

That brings us to that other best-selling book, Dreams from My Father. As the New York Times reported last this week,

“During his presidential campaign and subsequent battle over a health care law, Mr. Obama quieted crowds with the story of his mother’s fight with her insurer over whether her cancer was a pre-existing condition that disqualified her from coverage.

In offering the story as an argument for ending pre-existing condition exclusions by health insurers, the president left the clear impression that his mother’s fight was over health benefits for medical expenses.

But in “A Singular Woman: The Untold Story of Barack Obama’s Mother,” author Janny Scott quotes from correspondence from the president’s mother to assert that the 1995 dispute concerned a Cigna disability insurance policy and that her actual health insurer had apparently reimbursed most of her medical expenses without argument.”

Barack Obama did acknowledge in the introduction to the paperback edition of Dreams that he had created composite characters and conversations that were “approximations,” however, he has never admitted that the heart-rendering fairy tale that he told about his late mother’s battle with evil insurance companies and cynically used to sell his big-government takeover of health care, was false, which he most certainly knew, since, as the New York Times article notes, he actually handled the dispute with Cigna on his mother’s behalf. I suppose that’s why the White House has “declined to challenge” Ms. Scott’s reporting.

So, we have two charlatans. One is a hope-hawking huckster who made millions and financed a lavish lifestyle, including globetrotting on private jets, by peddling hokum about helping impoverished children, the power of education, women’s rights and Muslim outreach. The other is Greg Mortenson. If we ask which of the two has perpetrated the greater fraud, there’s no contest. As bad as many believe Greg Mortenson’s actions were, it’s one thing to scam people out of their money under false pretenses. It’s another, and much worse, thing to scam them out of not only their money, but their freedom as you “remake” their country into something that the Founders wouldn’t recognize.

In fairness to Mr. Mortenson, even his harshest critics have not suggested that he didn’t write actually his books. We cannot say the same thing for the One. In addition, the purchasers of Mr. Mortenson’s book, while arguably duped, chose to buy it. They were not force fed the result of back room deals, bribes and outright lies against their collective will, with a gun to their heads to pay for it. We cannot say the same for the Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare.

In his critique of Mr. Mortenson’s book, Mr. Krakauer says that the “image of Mortenson that has been created for public consumption… an artifact born of fantasy, audacity, and an apparently insatiable hunger for esteem.” Is it just me, or does that sound like perfect description of the brand “Barack Obama?”

I don’t know Deborah Netter. I wonder if she purchased Dreams, and if she voted for Barack Obama. If she did, I wonder when we can expect her lawsuit against our audacious Fraud-in-Chief.
