Rush, Don’t Panic. Your Monday Show Prep Will Continue

Stupid is as Stupid Does. Is it Time to Repeal the 19th Amendment? Today on the Teri O’Brien Show

Watching America’s first affirmative-action president invoke his daughters in support of a cynical political ploy designed to appeal to women not only depressed me. It reminded me that I am not entirely opposed to repealing the 19th amendment, or at least given some of the results of recent elections, I would be willing to consider it. Sandra Fluke’s arrival on the public stage is supposed to be all about gender equality and yet, for this phony controversy to benefit Obama, all the worst stereotypes about female voters have to be true; specifically that we are emotionally-driven, mentally-challenged airheads eagerly waiting to be led by a demagogue deceiving us about what’s really going on. Are women really so clueless, or even so stupid, that we will vote for more crushing debt on future generations, more crony capitalist spending and more government intrusion into every aspect of our lives, including the power of life and death over every citizen, because someone wouldn’t give Sandra Fluke and her friends free stuff? The democrats seem to think so, and some recent polls suggest that they may be right.

If contraception concerns aren’t sufficient to attract the ladies, perhaps a little Hollywood razzle dazzle will do the trick. Move over Michael Moore and Leni Riefensthal: an Academy-Award winning documentary winner does his part to re-elect the One, and even liberal media types wonder how he can keep a straight face while describing it.

Or perhaps “Mighty Michelle” will give the campaign a boost. She’ll be bowling for dollars this week, and since the Fluke episode has renewed calls for “civility,” perhaps she shouldn’t take her husband along, lest he mention Special Olympics.

Isn’t it interesting that whenever they believe they can gain some sort of political advantage from doing so, the Obamas never hesitate to inject their daughters, aka members of the White House “senior staff,” into the presidential campaign? Whether its justifying lavish date nights, explaining Moochelle’s intrusion into our kitchens and school cafeterias to fight the “epidemic” of obesity, or demonstrating his constant, crushing concern over an oil spill, Sasha and Malia are trotted out to help their parents avoid any substantive debate over their big government, freedom-destroying policies, or the glaring hypocrisy that dominates nearly everything they do.

Yesterday’s presser was no explanation. When asked about the phony controversy over “access to contraception,” which his political operation initiated, the One completely ignored questions about the double standard regarding derogatory remarks directed at women from his lefty buddies. You can see why he changed the subject. If your campaign had received $1 million for your campaign from a comedian who referred to a former governor by the “c” word, wouldn’t you change the subject, particularly if you had decided to keep the cash? Our Dear Reader knew he wouldn’t be challenged by the assembled stenographers, there to record his pearls of wisdom, but just in case he added a little insurance, by invoking his daughters, while explaining his phone call to democrat operative Sandra Fluke.

From Mediate:

President Obama was asked  ”do you believe Rush Limbaugh’s apology was sufficient and heartfelt, and do you agree with the number of sponsors that have stopped supporting his show, and has there been a double standard? Liberal commentators have made distasteful statements and there’s not been such an outrage.”

The President skirted much of the question, saying, “You know, I’m not going to comment on what sponsors decide to do. I’m not going to comment on either the economics or the politics of it. I don’t know what is in Rush Limbaugh’s heart, so I’m not going to comment on the apology.”

He continued, “But I can comment on the fact that all good folks can agree that the remarks that were made don’t have any place in the public discourse. And you know, the reason I called Ms. Fluke is because I thought about my daughters, and one of the things I want them to do as they get older is to engage in issues they care about, even ones I may not agree with them on. I want them to be able to speak their mind in a civil and thoughtful way.”

“And I do not want them attacked or called horrible names because they are being good citizens, and I wanted Sandra to know that I thought her parents should be proud of her, and that we want to send a message to all of our young people that being part of a democracy involves argument and disagreements and debate, and we want you to be engaged, and there’s a way to do it that doesn’t involve you being demeaned and insulted, particularly when you are a private citizen.”

I suppose we should be grateful that this latest mention of the kids didn’t include any mention of plugging holes.

Never forget: when liberals want to take away your freedom, it’s ALWAYS “for the children.”

What the Fluke? Rush Apologizes for Slut Remark About Dem Activist: Show Notes, 3/4/12

Rush Limbaugh Issues a Rare Apology

Last week the radio legend apologized for referring to leftwing activist/operative masquerading as an innocent law student Sandra Fluke (rhymes with WTF) as a “slut” and a “prostitute.” Regardless of whether those words apply, here are some that definitely do: “moocher” “shill” “liberal activist,” who is suddenly 30 years old, not 23, and who deliberately attended Georgetown so she could challenge the Catholic university’s policy on paying for contraceptives and abortifacients. So many questions:

  • Why is the word “slut,” which is often used as a badge of honor by feminists during their “slutwalks,” suddenly an horrific insult?
  • Should Rush have apologized?
  • Why did he do it?
  • Are you upset with Rush for playing into the Left’s hands by allowing the public debate to be, not about the actual issue of the coercion required to implement Obamacare, but the phony issue of “access to contraception?”
  • Is Barack Obama really sure Sandra Fluke’s parents’ are proud of her for publicly demanding that others pay for her contraception? If I had done that while in law school, my dad would have killed himself, or killed me, or both. I know he doesn’t want Sasha or Malia “punished” with a baby, but seriously?

While most Americans live in sheer terror of having to fill their gas tanks, Iran moves steadily toward the creation of a nuclear weapon, and our troops are being killed in Afghanistan over the burning of previously-defaced Korans, the president proved again last week that he knows what’s important;specifically, issuing another in a seemingly never-ending series of apologies to our enemies, raising ridiculous amounts of money for his campaign, and finishing the hachet job he started in January with the very willing assistance of “objective journalist”/democrat flack George Stephanapolous, who raised the burning issue of “contraception” at a New Hampshire debate.

The Lame Stream Media continues to try to distract voters from the naked coercion in Obamacare with its silly narrative about the GOP’s “War on Women,” as demonstrated by Republicans’ desire to eliminate “access” to contraception. They hope to use Rush Limbaugh as the poster boy for that completely phony charge, especially in the eyes of emotionally-driven suburban soccer mommies, most of whom can’t name their congressmen, but who are horrified by the bombastic talk show host’s being so “mean” to a “courageous,” innocent young girl, only 23 years old! Or wait …30, and with a long history of left-wing political activism. Whatever. Clearly, when discussing this issue and sadly, many others, facts and details don’t matter. Now that Rush has issued an apology, will the democrats be satisfied, and, as they like to say “move on?” Not bloody likely.

We’ll also learn a little of the inside story of what might have led Rush to use such inflammatory language. It’s a dirty, little secret, but one well known in the world of terrestrial radio: outrageous words sell.

Rush Calls a Slut a Slut. Left Goes Bananas

Yesterday, after Rush Limbaugh harkened back to the good old days when young women understood the importance of protecting their virtue, the Left put on a clinic in Stage 2 of the Three Stages of Arguing with Liberals, Feigned Outrage. Here’s a little segment from Rev. Al’s MS-NBC show, featuring Left Coast harridan Sen. Barbara “Call Me Senator, You Military Pig” Boxer.

Insulted and hurt every woman in America? Uh, no, Barbara. Only the sluts who expect the rest of us to pay for their birth control products so that they can engage in incessant recreational sex, and who are so lazy, or so stupid that they pay over $80 a month for something that they can get at their local Targets for $9 a month. You’re right, Senator, an overwhelming majority of American womenhave used contraception, often within marriage and at our own expense. Here’s an idea for you, Sandra. Get the guys you’re banging to pay the $9 a month. If you split it up among all of them, they should each only have to pay about 30 or 40 cents a month.

I can speak as one woman. I will not stop listening to Rush because not only is he informative and entertaining. He’s right again.

As previously noted, when Medicare-eligible Andrea Mitchell acted shocked when Foster Friess told a joke on her show about contraception that almost certainly heard in junior high, it is hilarious to watch these women of, shall we say, a certain age pretend that they don’t remember the good old days when society promoted sexual abstinence before marriage and condemned sex outside of marriage. Please, liberals, don’t waste your time, your condescending remarks and your feigned outrage on me. I know that people back in the day had sex outside of marriage. The difference was that then there was a stigma attached to having children outside wedlock, and that stigma was good for kids and good for society. In the late 1960′s, a few bitter, miserable women, enraged by their failure to succeed in traditional society, were able to leverage their positions in academia and media into powerful platforms. They used these platforms to convince young women that “liberation” meant hitting the sheets with as many guys as possible and that, for women, traditional marriage was legalized slavery. Now that point of view has become the official politically-correct point of view among those living in the parentheses on both coasts.

After Rep. Darryl Issa refused to let Nancy Pelosi, Carolyn Maloney, Barbara Boxer and the rest of the coven of Congressional liberal hags to hijack a hearing about the Obama Regime’s stomping all over the Constitution AGAIN, this time the First Amendment, they decided to hold their own hearing, featuring their star witness, Sandra Fluke. From MS-NBC:

Fluke, a third-year law student, said that Georgetown Law, a Jesuit institution, does not provide contraception coverage in its student health plan and that contraception can cost a woman more than $3,000 during law school. She spoke of a friend who had an ovary removed because the insurance company wouldn’t cover the prescription birth control she needed to stop the growth of cysts.

 

Ah, yes, “a friend.” Liberals have a lot of “friends,” most of them imaginary. At least Chuck Schumer admitted that the two average Americans that he wrote about, the Baileys,  like the ones Mitt Romney cannot possible relate to, were imaginary. As you read above, Ms. Fluke described the horrors of her personal denial of “access” to birth control, as in having to pay for it herself. Oh the humanity!

Once again, Rush is right.

 

Great Minds Think Alike, or Rush with O’Brien Echo Syndrome?

As usual, listeners to the Teri O’Brien Show are WAY ahead of the curve. Once again, they heard on Sunday what others hear on Monday, or even later in the week.

On last Sunday’s (2/12/12) show, as noted in the Show Notes for that edition of the program posted yesterday, I presented the theory that the Regime’s attempt to make last week’s exposure of the naked coercion required to implement Obamacare about contraception explains George Stephanopolous’ grilling of Mitt Romney about that subject back on 1/7/12. At the time, no one could understand where that came from. As I explained last Sunday, now it makes sense. Here’s the audio:
