GOP Will Bring Amnesty Back After Election

A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

****************
They’ve lost what little trust I had in them.  The Establishment Republicans in the US House of Representatives, I mean.

boehnersombrero

Let me be clear.  If the GOP manages to pass amnesty for illegal aliens through the House of Representatives before November of 2016, they will have to ram it down the throats of the conservative base.  If they are prepared to do that, then we invite then to, by all means, go for it.  But they should be prepared to assume minority party status in a three party system afterwards.

I say that because conservatives are preparing to bolt the party and wipe the dust of the GOP off their feet on the way out.

If the conservatives pull out, you can stick a fork in the GOP, for it will be done.

It’s time also for the Tea Party to begin throwing it’s considerable weight around.  I would respectfully suggest that the Tea Party leaders need to huddle and come up with new plans to further the conservative cause within the GOP and the Congress as a whole.   We all know where “nice guys” finish.

In an article entitled: “Memo to Conservatives: Republicans Aren’t Your Friends”  authored by Matthew Vadum at Canada Free Press, Mr. Vadum says:  “Republicans are nice people.  Too many Republicans think it’s wrong to criticize other Republicans. This failure to be forthright has had consequences.  It has allowed the Republican Party to take up political space it has no business occupying as it embraces left-wing statist tyranny.  Much of the time, the GOP is merely Democrat-lite.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) are so dangerously out of touch and out of control nowadays in part because other Republicans have allowed them to get that way.  Boehner and McConnell regard conservatives as a nuisance to be overcome, co-opted, subverted, and if necessary, eliminated.

A new way of thinking is required.”

I could not agree more with Mr. Vadum.  It is time for the Tea Party to say to the establishment republicans:  “You owe us — BIG TIME — and we are here to collect!   No more relegation to the back benches of the House or Senate. We want committee chairs and positions on committees and any other power position within which conservatives can boost the conservative agenda.”

I left the Republican Party after approximately 50 years as a registered Republican. I left for two reasons — the GOP’s swing to the left and the manner in which the establishment Republicans continued to treat conservative Republicans — to wit — as if conservatives were the red-headed step child.

Again, I agree with Mr. Vadum when he says: “The time has come for conservatives in the Republican Party to stop being nice.  RINOs Karl Rove (who nearly lost George W. Bush the presidency twice), Boehner, McConnell, and the rest of the GOP congressional leadership have declared war on the Tea Party, the same movement to which the Republican Party owes its continuing existence.  Boehner would not be speaker of the House if the Tea Party hadn’t boosted the GOP in 2010 and 2012.”

Some claim the GOP establishment have declared war against the Tea Party.  If that is true, they should be aware they will lose.  See, the Tea Party IS the grassroots of the Republican Party.  That means the establishment will be pitted against the base, the foundation of their party and any damage done will be to themselves and not to the conservative base.

I am still convinced the GOP plans to pass Amnesty … “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” SOON.  It appears we conservatives may have momentarily frightened them away from action before the November elections.  However, I feel certain they will revive the issue and pass some form of Amnesty — quickly — after the November election.

The indications are there. From The Daily Caller:  ”The Department of Homeland Security is already preparing to implement immigration reform legislation, according to DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson.

“When reform legislation is enacted, DHS must be prepared to implement reform. So to prepare for this potential outcome, I have already directed the deputy director of homeland security to coordinate the process to ensure we are ready to implement the law,” Johnson said Friday at the Woodrow Wilson International Center, during his first major policy address since becoming DHS’s fourth secretary.”

And then there is this, from National Review:

“National Review Online reached out to Goodlatte’s (Bob Goodlatte R., Va., chairman of the House Judiciary Committee) office several times regarding the drafting of new legislation, the possibility of that legislation being drafted this year, and whether or not Chairman Goodlatte had ruled out that possibility. The responses from a committee aide suggest that he hasn’t.”
The article at National Review Online continues:  “It’s understandable, of course, for politicians to keep their options open. But it also underscores the point that the media doom and gloom surrounding immigration reform in the House is entirely overblown.”

We recommend you read the entire article at National Review Online.

America desperately needs a two-party system rather than the one and-a-half party system we have now.  We can’t do that as long as the GOP is riven in twain as it is today.

America stands at a critical moment in its history and now is not the time for division, derision, and/or contemptible conduct to weaken the resolve of those who wish to conduct the nation back towards its constitutional foundation.

Sadly, if the GOP cannot pull itself together, then there appears no recourse except that which allows for conservatives to split from the party — and found a party of their own.  At the moment it may appear the least appealing, but it may, in the long run, save the nation.

It is an  exasperating situation for those of us who dwell on the political right.  With a resounding victory at hand, one we can almost taste, to have the engine that drives our conservative train faltering when the finish line is in sight is immeasurably frustrating.

If I could grasp the GOP by the shoulders, I’d shake the heck out of them and exclaim in their collective faces:  “Pull it together, people!”

A final reminder:  If the GOP is truly serious about ridding itself of conservatives, Tea Party and otherwise, then all they need do is pass any form of immigration reform that allows a so-called pathway for citizenship — amnesty — for the illegal aliens within our borders.

When the southern border with Mexico is secured, THEN and only THEN can we seriously look at immigration reform.

Look.  Two hundred years before Christ walked this earth, the Chinese began building a wall that eventually stretched 13,170 miles long and across 15 provinces.  America can place a man on the moon, a robot on Mars, and a telescope in space that (they tell us) has the potential of seeing all the way back to the moment of creation — but we can’t seem to build a wall (or fence) only 1,954 miles long?

All that is needed is the political will to get the job done.  (Speaking of jobs … how many jobs would building that wall create?)

Whether it’s the democrats in the U.S. Senate, or the Iranians, going nuclear is all the rage.

In yet another brilliant move, the Dear Reader’s regime tells Iran “if you like your enriched uranium, you can keep your enriched uranium,” and, Bitter Clinger, unlike what he told you about your health insurance policy, your doctor, and your hospital, he isn’t lying to the Iranians. Perhaps, he’s confused. The speech that Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei  made last week, in which he called Israel a “rabid dog,” and accused the United States of war crimes, could have been written by Rev. Jeremiah Wright. A state sponsor of terrorism with a bomb. What could possibly go wrong? We’ve seen this movie before. It was called “North Korea,” and “Iran” is the sequel. Sec. of State John “Lurch” Kerry assures us that the deal does not include any “right to enrich” uranium. The Iranians disagree, and at least two senators say that the agreement includes a right to enrich. MMM …who to believe? A member of the Obama regime, or the Iranians? Tough call. If Iran gets a nuclear weapon, will Barack tell us that he is sorry the world finds itself in a much more dangerous place because of assurances they got from him?

Meanwhile, the tiny man with the huge wallet is at it again. As if making idiotic remarks about the Time Square bomber, trying to micromanage our eating habits, and insinuating himself into elections thousands of miles from New York City weren’t enough, now he’s trying to get you to start heated arguments with your family on Thanksgiving. His gun grabbing group has helpfully put out a list of talking points for you to use. Are you game? No, and please don’t shoot me!

Obama’s lawless party continues its shredding of tradition and the rule of law, along with, of course, that pesky “document of negative liberties,” the Constitution. Their latest exercise of raw power is their suspension of the “advice and consent” provision contained in Art. II, Section 2 by invoking the so-called “nuclear option,” something Sen. Reid had agreed with Sen. Mitch McConnell (D-KY) that he would not do.

The Reason Ronald Reagan Was Victorious Over the Left

Radical leftists are even worse than sleazy lawyers, believe it or not

I heard Rush Limbaugh talking today about something that we’ve discussed here, and on The Teri O’Brien Show; specifically, that East Coast Brain Rot-afflicted establishment Republicans don’t get it. They don’t understand that we are in an existential battle for the soul of this country, which is why instead of standing with guys like Sen. Ted Cruz and Sen. Mike Lee, who do appreciate what we’re up against, they fight them instead of Barack Obama.

People sometimes say “why can’t Republican leaders today be like Ronald Reagan?” When it comes to waging war against the Left, Sen. Mitch McConnell and Speaker of the House John Boehner are at a distinct disadvantage compared to President Reagan. Ronald Reagan had the experience of fighting communists when he was head of the Screen Actors Guild in the 1940′s. He knew how vicious and deceitful they are, and how there is nothing they won’t do to further their utopian vision. Guys like McConnell don’t have a clue. They think Barack Obama is like Hubert Humphrey, or some other traditional democrat, who, while a member of the opposing party, agrees on the rules of the game. For the radical Left, there are no rules other than “we can’t wait” and “whatever it takes.” We have seen this attitude on prominent display during the lawless tenure of the Obama administration. Whether it’s deciding which laws to ignore or enforce, using various schemes to do end runs around Congress, or otherwise doing whatever they want, the Constitution and the law be damned.

To understand the radical Left, recall what happened in the 1972 Olympic Men’s Basketball final, resetting the clock until the Soviet Union scored so that they could be awarded the Gold medal. The ends justify the means.

Ronald Reagan understood the Left. They fight dirty. They lie. They cheat. Their whole philosophy is an immoral fabrication, based on envy, promoting theft and requiring brutal coercion to enforce. There’s a reason that communists have killed over 100 million people in the last century. You aren’t going to beat them by pretending you’re dealing with the Girl Scouts.

Barack Obama is now, and has been for his entire adult life, a radical Leftist. That fact was obvious even before he was elected to the Illinois State Senate. It has been very frustrating to many of us that what was so glaring and obvious about this man wasn’t clear to a lot of our fellow citizens. The very fact that he was a “community organizer” should have been sufficient to disqualify him from consideration for the office of President. “Community organizers” don’t accept the underpinnings of our Constitution, private property and the rule of law. They don’t accept the rules of the game, the Constitution.

Dancing on the Tea Party’s Grave: Today on The Teri O’Brien Show, 10-20-13

Is this man smiling because he has destroyed his opposition? Time will tell. It's up to us.

Is this man smiling because he has destroyed his opposition? Time will tell. It’s up to us.

It’s official. Everyone, and by “everyone” I mean all the East Coast Brain Rot afflicted elites in the Establishment GOP and the legacy media, hates Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), and everyone knows that he has destroyed the “Republican brand.” Sen. John McCain (R-Amnesty) says that Sen. Cruz and his ally, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) were on a “fool’s errand” that took attention away from the Obamacare rollout fiasco. Is he right? Isn’t it more likely that Sen. Cruz is correct when he says that if the Senate Republicans had stood united with the House GOP, and went out across the nation highlighting the ridiculous disaster of the “Affordable Care Act” website, and explaining that it was Barack Obama who refused to negotiate? Of course it is! Just how much did that Obamacare website cost? The number is staggering, especially when you consider that the technology used is not exactly state of the art. You won’t believe just how old that technology is. Let’s put it this way: The government just did the equivalent of taking $250,000 of your money to purchase a rusted out ’57 Chevy. More interesting numbers in this week’s “By the Numbers” segment.

Why would the government botch this Obamacare rollout so badly? I submit that it’s not an accident, a mistake or an example of the sort of inevitable “glitches” that all technology experiences. In fact, like Lois Lerner before her, Sec. of Health and Human Services Kathleen “There’s no bad abortion” Sibelius did exactly what she was told to do. Confused? We’ll unpack it today.

The CW (Conventional Wisdom) is that this recent effort to save Americans from the horribly destructive effects of Obamacare signals the end of the Tea Party. Certainly, Sen. Mitch “Surrender Now” McConnell must hope so. Are guys like the Liberal Death Star’s token “conservative” David “Great Pant Crease!” Brooks correct about the end of the movement that took the House in 2010? Or, is the reality that this recent battle energized opposition to the Obama regime’s lawless agenda? Did they retreat, or are they just reloading? Will they be able to mobilize to stop the amnesty that the democrats are planning to try to foist on us as soon as possible?

“On This Day” reminds us of Barack Obama’s radical associations.

No Thanks, Mr. President | National Review Online

Obama’s game is now and has always been, not to debate his opposition, but to “punish” his “enemies,” and destroy them. All Alinsky all the time. Five days before he was elected in 2008, he said he would “transform” America, and he has set about doing it. Obamacare is the key to that transformation. As our guest, Prof. Kesler explained on this edition of the show, and as I have often noted, Obamacare dramatically changes the relationship between citizens and the government. Despite Chief Justice John Roberts’ doing a Bill Ayers and re-writing the legislation, it’s as anti-Constitutional as ever, delivering the coups de grace to that document of “negative rights” that Obama has so long despised.
