Newt Gingrich Administers Well-Deserved Smackdown to Piers Morgan

Isn’t it amazing how leftist media weasels suddenly discover religion when they want to rip a conservative? Newt was having none of that. Enjoy this delicious beat down of CNN’s Piers Morgan by the always brilliant former Speaker.

Blutto Obama: When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Out of Town

I misspoke on last Sunday’s stellar edition of The Teri O’Brien Show when I said that last Friday, on the day the horrific job numbers were released, the One got out of Dodge and attended four fundraisers. Wrong. He actually attended SIX fundraisers, one of which had a ticket price of $50,000 a plate. No question about it: he’s a man of the people.
The mask is off. His leaving town on the day that those anemic job creation numbers were released shines a bright light on an already obvious truth: he has given up any pretense of actually doing the job he was elected to do. Citizens of the state of Illinois are quite familiar with political insiders getting perq-rich no show jobs. The Obamas have personally, and happily, benefited from that practice. He had one after he was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004, and spent most of his time running for president. His repellant wife, who recently assured the soft-headed audience of ABC’s “The View” that she will always “serve,” had a $300,000 a year “public service job” ridding her hospital employer of indigent patients. That “essential” position was eliminated as soon as Mooch left for D.C., which I’m sure was a complete coincidence.

Seeing the continuing poor performance of our economy, and knowing the suffering associated with it, some executives might have wanted to stay in town and actually try to figure out some solutions. Perhaps he could have considered calling together the leaders of Congress and his crackerjack economic team to hammer out some steps to make things better. Not this bunch. Things are really terrible? What better time for a road trip! It worked for the Deltas in “Animal House,” no?

Or maybe they should have just had a toga party

Here They Go Again: We’re in an economic recovery, and, besides, don’t blame Obama

Steve Kroft reports from this evening’s edition of “60 Minutes:”

There are only a few things that could derail the U.S. economic recovery that finally seems to be underway, and one of them is the debt crisis in Europe, along with the recession that is now sweeping across the continent.

“[t]he U.S. economic recovery that finally seems to be underway?” Seriously? Did Steve Kroft see those job numbers that were released on Friday? How about the actual number of adults actually participating in the economy, an anemic 58.57%? Translation: it’s not Obama’s fault if our economy stays in the toilet.

The story goes on to quote London financial analyst Louise Cooper.

We’re in a debt crisis. Eurozone countries have way too much debt. We have gorged on debt. We are living beyond our means. And after 10 years of booming economic times, it is now payback time. We are paying back our credit cards and that will prove very painful and costly.

It already has. Ten European countries are now in recession. In Spain, where the unemployment rate is 23 percent, there have been general strikes and civil unrest. In France, three of its largest financial institutions teetered on the edge of insolvency until the European Central Bank came to the rescue with more than a trillion dollars in easy credit to shore up the system. Seven European countries have changed leadership because of the crisis, and one, Greece, reneged on $133 billion in debts.

Louise Cooper: This is an extraordinary event. You know, a member of the euro club, the elite euro club, can’t pay its bills. That is extraordinary. A Western, developed country has defaulted. We haven’t seen that since 1940 when Italy did it in the Second World War when it refused to pay its enemies.

The financial markets worry that the same fate could befall Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Italy, which are already all in crisis, and losing the confidence of international investors who have bankrolled their debts.

Louise Cooper: The fear of Greece is it sets a precedent for other indebted countries. Then everybody who owns Portuguese debt or Irish debt, possibly even Spanish debt or Italian debt, you start to worry, “Will I ever get my money back?” That is the problem.

Rather than running interference for the One while he lies and demagogues Paul Ryan’s budget, while hoping no one will notice that his Treasury Sec. admitted that “we don’t have a definitive solution. We just don’t like yours,” perhaps Mr. Kroft could do a story on the fact that what’s going on in Greece is a preview of coming attractions if we allow Barack Obama and his merry band of Marxists to continue taking America down the road to serfdom.

Last Night’s ABC GOP Debate Unpacked, and Obama Said It Himself-One and Done! Today on the Teri O’Brien Show

Did you miss last night’s ABC GOP debate? No worries. You know that I watch so you don’t have to. Since you no doubt have a life, and therefore something more interesting to do on a Saturday night, tune in and hear all about it. Who won? Who lost? Who set the Twitterverse on fire with one remark? Did Mitt deliver a knock out blow to the man who threatens to ruin his Christmas, Newt Gingrich? How did Newt handle the thinly-veiled references to his, shall we say, colorful personal life?

Here he goes again: Barack Obama is making promises about reducing unemployment again, whining about what he inherited, and inadvertently admitting that his goal for America is not opportunity, but–I hope you’re sitting down–income redistribution.

Tune in Sunday for the rest of the story.

The Continuing Assault on the Constitution, and the GOP’s Natural Born Citizen Problem: Today on the Teri O’Brien Show

This week we’ll focus on the unfortunate state of our country on this 4th of July weekend, the result of a very bad hiring decision that the voters made in 2008. For the last one hundred years, the U.S. Constitution has been under assault by those who view it as an obstacle to their grand plans to “remake” America with big government solutions to every human problem, never so much so as now, with the very person charged with preserving, protecting and defending it an enthusiastic proponent of precisely that point of view. Hear the stunningly clueless remarks of one inside-the-beltway pinhead who recently asked the arrogant and frightening question about our founding document “Does it still matter?”

As America celebrates the stunning experiment the Founders undertook 235 years ago, many of her citizens are struggling in a weak economy that has caused the cancellation of fireworks and other celebrations in many communities. No worries, though. It’s not as if we don’t have anything to entertain us. There’s the hilarious on-going reality show starring America’s favorite wacky grifters, the Obamas, who have managed to scam their way into luxury vacations, celebrity-studded parties, endless supplies of lobster, and glamorous wardrobes, courtesy of the U.S. taxpayers, all the while lecturing those same suckers on the importance of living within our means, the evils of corporate jets, and the importance of healthy eating. Whether it’s the Mrs. chowing down on fat fries during her latest sumptuous sojourn in Africa, or her husband lecturing Congress to “do their job” just before boarding his own jet to head off to another gazillion-dollar-a-plate fundraiser with fat cats, this do-as-we-say, not-as-we do duo is almost as funny as “The Jeffersons.” I say “almost” because even though his race-obsessed antics and incompetent actions drove Weezie crazy, it was easier to laugh at George Jefferson since he wasn’t attempting to destroy the country we grew up in. Nor was he emboldening America’s enemies, particularly the jihadists in the Middle East. Did the Obama administration lie when spokesmen said that its Afghan retreat plan was one of the options presented by the generals? We’ll share the evidence that they did.

Perhaps the sorry state of our economy and our place in the world is glaring evidence of the prescience of the Founders, who were very clear that the office of President of the United States must be a “natural born citizen,” something that the current incompetent occupant of the Oval Office is not. Our special guest “Chet Arthur” suggests that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) may be the man to rescue our country, but is Sen. Rubio eligible to be president, or is he, like B. Hussein Obama, not an Article II natural born citizen? We’ll ask Mr. Arthur. We’ll also ask him about his shocking assertion about Barack Obama. Is Mr. 57 States really a “first rate intellect?”

There’s also the captivating Casey Anthony trial. What is the real message of this disgusting case? What was “Tot Mom’s” (H/T the demonic-looking Nancy Grace) real mistake?

Tune in later for the rest of the story.

Today on the Teri O’Brien Show, 6/12/11

Here we go again. Less than a week after stating “this is not something that can be treated,” and one day after the White House and the democrat leadership in the House threw him under the bus, left-wing loudmouth Anthony Weiner (D-Twitter) announced that he was taking a leave of absence to seek treatment for his, shall we say, problem. By off loading responsibility for his actions, he lost the one shred of dignity he had left. Get me re-write. From his week of excruciatingly embarrassing attempts to convince everyone that he was “hacked,” when an eight-year-old could see that wasn’t true, to the inevitable refuge in rehab, this plot has been recycled more than those yarns found in Lifetime movies. In fact, I think I just saw a Lifetime movie with this very plot, or maybe it was a news story about another politician. Who can keep it straight? Still, there are three important takeaways from this Weiner mess, which I’ll share. I’ll also explain once and for all, why female elected officials don’t get caught up in these sordid scandals. This topic was dished about this morning on This Week with Christiane Amanpour. Please weigh in: Are you sick of politicians and other celebrities playing the victim card by medicalizing their bad behavior? I am only slightly less tired of Newt Gingrich’s “Calista and I” campaign. Do you think it’s fair to blame her for his train wreck of a campaign?

Meanwhile, in the other most important news of the day, the Jurassic media actually enlisted the assistance of its readers to pick through hundreds of pounds of e-mails from Gov. Sarah Palin’s tenure that were released on Friday. We’ll enjoy a taste of the tasty nuggets they found, and ponder the question that even some liberals are asking: When do we get to go through Sarah Palin’s underwear drawer? No, not that. The real question is where are the Obama papers? Speaking of Sarah, she has a new fan, and his name might surprise many. He is, or perhaps I should say, WAS an esteemed member of the Hollywood elite. Hear his amazing, and spot on, comments about her, and more clear evidence of what many of us have known all along: the Mama Grizzly is very smart. She’s been distancing herself from a certain air-headed tv personality, a faux conservative known for making moronic remarks on an appropriately moronic show.

As that last remark suggests, like most of you, I have a love-hate relationship with television. For years, culture watchers have noted that entertainment television has become what can be charitably called a coarsening force in our society. We know that liberals have weaponized the media and created a perfect delivery system for their poisonous mix of secularism, socialism, and sexual promiscuity. Our special guest Ben Shapiro, author of the terrific new book, Prime Time Propaganda: the True Story of How the Left Took Over Your TV. Mr. Shapiro’s controversial interviews with Hollywood heavyweights provide conclusive proof of  something even more disturbing than the obvious fact that they use their shows to promote an agenda; that is, that these very same people who are outraged by the anti-Communist blacklisting of the 1950’s are very supportive of blacklisting talented writers and producers who don’t march lock-step with them in the leftist views.

This morning Tim Pawlenty said he’s the one candidate in the race who can beat Barack Obama. Is he right? Can you support him? Alleged frontrunner Mitt Romney tarnished his appeal to conservatives by pandering to envirowackos and their man-caused climate change hoax. Did that change your view of him? Who looks good to you?

What definitely does not look good is B. Hussein Obama’s economic report card. The numbers are stunning. Last Sunday, in what looked like a series of hostage tapes, we saw, and heard on the show, the Dear Reader’s chief economics guru, Austan Goolsbee, on several issue shows lamely trying to defend the administration’s pathetic performance. The next day, he announced that he was beating a speedy retreat back to the comfort and safety of academia, where the only problems that need solving are hypothetical. This morning, DNC mouthpiece Debbie Wasserman Schultz lamely tried to put a good face on our dismal economy and her party’s sad stewardship. Hear her unintentionally hilarious remarks, and also the Critiquelator’s, who is certified black enough to critiquelate, comments on the Goolsbee departure.

Where’s the Birth Certificate: Today on the Teri O’Brien Show, 6/5/11

This week we’ll be discussing non-candidate and former VP candidate Gov. Sarah Palin’s overshadowing alleged GOP front runner Mitt Romney’s carefully staged announcement that he is a candidate for president. The few Americans paying attention may have been asking themselves “hasn’t he been running for the last 7 years?” I’m not referring to the viewers who didn’t recognize Mitt Romney at all, and thought they were watching an attractive informercial pitchman, or one of those hologram-like fungible tv news readers doing a standup outside that clambake that Sarah Palin attended. Gov. Palin appeared on one of the Sunday shows today, and, in a performance described by the host as “boffo,” explained just exactly what’s she’s up to. And, in a refreshingly honest assessment, a former Democrat party chairman throws cold water on the mocking taunts by his party regarding the lovely Sarah. He says she can win, and I think he’s right. What say you?

It appears that some haven’t given up on nudging Gov. Chris Christie into the race. Even his statement, that short of committing suicide, which you’ve got to know would be a lot harder now that Jack “Dr. Death” Kevorkian has passed on, hasn’t stopped supporters from clamoring for him to jump in the pool. If he does, he’s going to make a huge splash, in more ways than one. Is the country ready for a full-figured chief executive? Of course, perhaps by following the latest do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do advice from America’s number one self-appointed nutrition and fitness expert, Michelle Obama, Gov. Christie can go from rotund to rangy. I must have missed it. Where do the ice cream, burgers and fries that Michelle enjoys so often fit on “MyPlate?”

As our very special guest, we’ll be bring on Dr. Jerome Corsi, Harvard alum and best-selling author two No. 1 New York Times nonfiction bestsellers, Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry (with co-author John O’Neill) and The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality. His latest blockbuster, Where’s the Birth Certificate? The Case That Barack Obama is Not Eligible to Be President, who says that Barack Obama is not eligible to hold the office of U.S. President, even if he was born in Hawaii, a declaration that as he will explain is far from clearly true. He’ll explain why any of this controversy should matter to you, and respond to allegations that he is not only a crank, but a racist one at that.

There he goes again: it seems so long ago since “recovery summer,” doesn’t it? Now, with the dismal economic news, including a decade of home equity down the drain, the doubling the price of a gallon of gasoline since the One ascended to White House, and the recent release of the 9.1% unemployment stats last Friday, President Obama’s Senior Economic Adviser Austan Goolsbee is back on the Sunday shows, spinning like a top, in response to the question “Was the stimulus worth it?” Don’t miss the unintentionally hilarious answer to that one.

Plus, a question for the ladies, and a suggestion for you men out there, both inspired by the cringe-inducing Twitter mishap involving leftwing loudmouth, Cong. Anthony Weiner (D-NY).
