Every week or two, the satellite office of the never-ending Obama campaign, sometimes called “the media,” chooses a distraction, a shiny object to keep us from focusing on the destruction that the One and his merry band of Marxists have brought down on our country. As we discussed on last Sunday’s edition of The Teri O’Brien Show, this week’s selection is a buffoonish NBA owner’s racist comments during a private conversation with his semi-deformed girlfriend. (I guess all the stuff about staying out of people’s bedrooms that we hear from our friends on the Left is also to be selectively applied like most of their other ideas.) Obama’s media flacks said that these comments were so horrifying that “even the President felt compelled to weigh in.” No, not exactly. The President was specifically asked about this non-issue by—who else?—Chuck Todd of NBC “News,” clearly as part of a setup to give our Dear Reader the opportunity to raise the issue that is his golden ticket. This story is a brilliant choice because it shines a spotlight on the alleged racism still rampant in Amerikkka, something that Barack Obama has been dining out on for his entire adult life. He surfed a wave of white guilt into the U.S. Senate and then into the White House. Back in 2008, the late Geraldine Ferraro got the Donald Sterling treatment for speaking an obvious truth; specifically, that but for his race, Barack Hussein Obama would not have been the democrat nominee for president. He is our first affirmative-action president.
So with democrat prospects in November 2014 looking grim, it’s time to remind everyone of our nation’s unredeemable racism to terrify Obama’s minority supporters, and to keep you from noticing the following:
It’s going to cost more to fix the Obamacare website than it cost to build it in the first place. From the Washington Times:
Fixing the Obamacare website to get it ready to handle a second round of enrollments cost the federal government $121 million, according to Accenture, the contractor hired to repair the glitchy website after the original contractor, CGI Federal, was fired in January.
The deal, which Accenture announced on its website Tuesday, costs more than the $93.7 million it took CGI Federal to build HealthCare.gov in the first place.
It’s also $30 million more than the government projected for fixes just a few months ago, when it called in Accenture on an emergency basis to try to keep President Obama’s signature domestic law on track.
“There doesn’t seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel for Obamacare website expenses,” said House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell E. Issa, California Republican. “Developers are still being brought in to finish building HealthCare.gov, some states are abandoning their own failed sites, and federal taxpayers are still being handed the bills for it all.”
And of course, it’s not the “glitchy” website. Check out this story: “Whoops! Half of Georgia’s Insurance Enrollees Haven’t Paid Yet.“
Emails Obtained by Judicial Watch Show Obama Administration Was Behind the Benghazi Lie
Not a surprise to most of you, I know, but we now have the smoking gun, the email from Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes (brother of David Rhodes, President of CBS News) with the subject line “9/14 Prep Call with Susan.” Congress, as you know, is the body that is supposed to do oversight over the Regime, and Congress has been requesting these emails for over 20 months. They still don’t have them They were provided to an independent third party as the result of a Freedom of Information request. We still don’t know answers to the following questions: (1) Where is evidence that video caused attack? (2)Who came up with the video story? (3) Where was Obama for 5 hours? One of the goals Mr. Rhodes identified in his prep memo was “”to reinforce the president and administration’s strength and steadiness in dealing with difficult challenges.” Note to the Obama regime. To paraphrase Lady Thatcher, being strong and steady in challenging times is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren’t.
The Continuing Horrible Economy
From The Wall Street Journal:
The U.S. economy nearly stalled in the first quarter as weakness overseas hurt exports and frigid weather curtailed business investment.
Gross domestic product, the broadest measure of goods and services produced across the economy, grew at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 0.1% in the first quarter, the Commerce Department said Wednesday. That matched the second-weakest quarterly reading of the nearly five-year-old economic recovery.
And from CNS News, in a story headlined “In 20% of American Families, No One Works”
In 20 percent of American families in 2013, according to new data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), not one member of the family worked.
There are also other actual news stories, events that have an impact on your future and that of your fellow citizens (and even those millions of illegals, who when they aren’t “in the shadows” are marching around with Mexican flags, demanding their entitled legal status. Get ready for that tomorrow) such as Attorney General Eric “You are a race coward” Holder, another affirmative action appointee, and his continuing stonewalling Congressional requests for documents about his Fast and Furious program, and former IRS official Lois Lerner’s attorney’s assertion that his client, who has tried to silence anyone who disagrees with her leftist views her entire career, is being treated in a way that is “unAmerican” because Congress plans to hold her in contempt for refusing to explain why she used the power of the federal government to try to suppress opposition to the democrat party.
I realize that these stories are probably not as important as what this clown said behind closed doors to some woman other than his wife, 50 years younger than he, that he is banging and who looks like she went through a windshield, but I thought you should know.
