There ARE Some Jobs Americans Won’t Do! The Ugly Side of Obama’s Amnesty

As we discussed on last Sunday’s show, His Highness, King Barack, understandably impatient with the irritating unwillingness of the people’s representatives to agree to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, otherwise known as “new Democrat voters,” has decided to do by fiat what he cannot do by following the law. Late last Thursday, August 19, we learned that Janet “The System Worked” Napolitano and her sidekick, the ironically titled “Enforcement Director” John Morton have decided enact their own de facto DREAM act. From now on ICE will exercise its “prosecutorial discretion” using criteria remarkably similar to those contained in that proposed legislation, including whether the individual illegally in the country came here as a minor or has served in the military. That means that the existing 300,000 cases currently in the system, illegals in the process of being deported, get a reprieve, as the feds try to separate the ever-popular “hard-working, honest people providing for their families while being forced to live in the shadows,” from the “worst of the worst.” The timing surrounding this significant change in policy, in which ICE did a virtual 180 over a period of less that two weeks, is interesting and deserves examination.

To connect these dots, let’s consider that it was just August 5 when the Obama administration enraged “immigration activists,” (read those who don’t recognize the legitimacy of U.S. borders) by asserting that the federal government had the right to continue to pursue its Secure Communities program, over the objections of state and local governments. From the Huffington Post:

The government faces a backlash over Secure Communities, a program that allows federal authorities to screen fingerprints of those arrested by local police in order to detect undocumented immigrants. Critics say the program nets large numbers of non-criminal undocumented immigrants and takes focus away from the primary targets of immigration enforcement, violent offenders.

DHS implemented the program in a number of states by asking governors to sign on using memorandums of agreement, which helped DHS move toward its goal of spreading the program nationwide by 2013. Earlier this year, states began to push back against the program, arguing it threatens public safety and passes on enforcement costs to local governments.

The program had originally been referred to as voluntary, with DHS listing instructions for states and local communities to “opt out.” But when Illinois and New York terminated their memorandums of agreement with DHS in May and June, the agency confirmed it would continue to use fingerprints taken by local police for immigration enforcement.

In effect, it meant the agreements between state and federal authorities were meaningless. The decision on Friday to stop creating memorandums of agreement canceled them altogether.

The leftist La Raza crowd was apoplectic. They were not taking this latest extreme disappointment with the Obama administration lying down. They launched a “national day of action,” which you, a productive citizen with better things to do than to march around screeching about your right to break the law and your entitlement to lots of free stuff, may have missed. Their protests, including one at Barack Obama’s Chicago campaign headquarters, were held on August 17. Just two days later, Sec. Napolitano put on her sensible shoes and her wide watchband and went before the cameras to announce this new policy, a dramatic reversal one that they announced on August 5. Forgive me, perhaps I have fallen prey to the corrosive cynicism that afflicts so much of our society today, but I smell a political motivation in this decision. In fact, the stench is overwhelming. The Obama campaign is in a state of panic over his plummeting poll ratings. They consider Hispanic voters key to any hope of re-election.

Opponents of enforcing our laws through programs like Secure Communities assert that “While many of those caught through Secure Communities have been convicted murderers, rapists and pedophiles, the program has also pulled in people convicted of lesser crimes, such as traffic violations.”

MMM…Traffic violations. You mean like this guy? From the San Francisco Chronicle:

Sonoma County prosecutors filed charges Monday against an allegedly unlicensed driver who authorities say ran over a 4-year-old boy in a Santa Rosa crosswalk and sped off.

Marcos Lopez Garcia, 22, was charged in Superior Court with felony hit-and-run as well as two misdemeanors, vehicular manslaughter and driving without a valid license. He made an initial court appearance Monday but did not enter a plea.

Garcia, who is being held without bail because federal officials suspect him of being an illegal immigrant, has two previous arrests for driving without a license, records show. Five days before Thursday’s crash, police said, he was told not to drive until a court appearance in October.

His two previous arrests for “traffic violations” meant that he was one of those 300,000 cases in the system. Perhaps now that he’s killed a 4 year-old walking with his mom and two sisters to soccer practice, he’ll be deemed dangerous enough to deport. I’m sure Big Sis will get right on that review.

Perhaps Nicolas Guaman wouldn’t have killed Matthew Denice if the state of Massachusetts had just given him a driver’s license. I don’t doubt that open border advocates would make that argument. From

Matthew Denice’s family was at court in Milford on Monday to see the arraignment of the man who allegedly killed their son in a drunken driving accident.…The family went to court to see Nicolas Guaman, who is accused of driving drunk and hitting the 23-year-old who was on his motorcycle. …Police said Denice was struck in the wheel well of Guaman’s truck and dragged a quarter mile onto a yard, but Guaman still didn’t stop.

“People across the street were like beating on the window, beating on the truck and yelling at him, trying to get him to stop,” said Greg Russo, a witness.

Police said not only is Guaman in the country illegally, but he was driving without a license and had his 6-year-old son in the truck with him.

These two violent deaths of innocent Americans at the hands of illegal aliens, who previously had not committed any “serious” crimes, happened within the last week. Also within that time frame we have the case of a 12 year-old, whose identity was stolen by an illegal, and the two enterprising illegals involved in a multi-state brothel and prostitution ring. About them, the Kingsport-Times News reports:

Virtually all of the prostitutes entered the United States illegally and used false names or nicknames. The defendants traded the prostitutes among their brothels on a weekly basis, and court records state most of the prostitutes worked 11 hours a day, six days a week, 50 weeks per y e a r.

Prosecutors say the prostitutes were generally expected to service 30 customers a day, charging $30 for 15 minutes of sexual intercourse.

Apparently, some of them are very hard-working, and what the “comprehensive immigration reform” advocates say is true: there are jobs that Americans won’t do.

Time and space permitting, I could cite many more instances of supposedly harmless people breaking “only” our immigration laws committing other heinous crimes on our soil. I could, but thinking about the Obama administration’s relentless pursuit of political power, undeterred by the rule of law, the Constitution, or even the safety of American citizens, I think I just threw up in my mouth.
