Valerie Jarrett, senior advisor to B. Hussein Obama, was speaking Thursday before a gathering of some of America’s richest people at the SkyBridge Alternatives Conference in Las Vegas. The attendees to the annual conference are hedge-fund managers and political and business leaders, as well as celebrities.
These are the very type of fat wallets that Harry Reid loves to demonize when they are in the possession of his opposition. They don’t seem to be nearly as offensive when it is a Democrat’s open palm extended for “support.”
Jarrett reiterated the regime’s determination to pass amnesty before the end of summer. She told those gathered that she believes House Speaker John Boehner will find a way to get an amnesty bill or several smaller bills to the floor of the House for a vote. She indicated it would likely take place after the primary elections in order to insulate turncoat Republican candidates from their constituencies and possible negative political consequences.
Jarrett said, “I think we have a window this summer, between now and August, to get something done.” We have a commitment from Speaker Boehner, who’s very frustrated with his caucus.”
She actually said that there is a commitment to Obama from Boehner that he will mimic the Senate and ram an unpopular amnesty bill down the throats of the American people.
Tipping Boehner’s hand, Jarrett said multiple bills would be just as acceptable to the regime as a comprehensive package. In that regard, Jarrett said, “There’s a lot of ways to skin a cat. I feel very encouraged about immigration reform. I think you’re going to see mounting pressure.”
We, the American people, are the cats Ms. Jarrett plans to skin. That might not be as easy of a task as she thinks. It’s a lot tougher to skin a cat than to shear a sheep.
As you know, I hold no brief for John Boehner, but I think that this statement about a “committment” could be an expedient exaggeration from one of Obama’s number one apparatchiks. Yes, the Chamber of Commerce, aka the Chamber of Crony Capitalism (H/T Mark Levin), has demanded amnesty RIGHT NOW, and the entire East Coast Brain Rot afflicted elite class wants it, but I don’t see how he could have made this “commitment.”
We stopped amnesty in 2007, and we can stop it again. Time to contact your representatives, Guys, to let them know that at a time with millions of Americans unemployed or underemployed, we don’t need to legalize millions more. When America is $17 trillion in debt, we certainly don’t need to roll out the welcome mat for millions of people who are enthusiastic supporters of government-mandated income redistribution.
Here’s a thought: instead of giving speeches to the 1%, Ms. Jarrett should be giving depositions to Rep. Trey Gowdy’s Select Committee investigating the murder of 4 Americans on September 11, 2012.
